In future, check better who makes the comments. If that comment had been made by Mojang employee, then it would have been a different story.
EDIT: Sorry for the confusion my comment in JIRA has caused. I'll try to be more clear in future.
Haha! Funny that in that village I discussed, the people spread out on the new update and then when I went back to 1.4.7 they went back to crowding in a corner.
I don't actually know all the names of everybody at Mojang, or a way to determine if a commenter is a Mojang employee or not. It really did sound like you had made a change and committed it into the snapshot. That, plus what I saw on my world, seemed enough evidence to me.
No worries though, no harm (except my hopes dashing on the rocks) no foul.
The Curse Client is progressing on PC only and leaving Mac users behind. The Curse Client features are one of the best I have heard about. I'm sure Minecraft Mac users would flip head over heels if the Mac Curse Client were updated with all these features that no other minecraft game client has ever had before. So Curse, do the Mac users a favor, and update this extremely awesome creation for us to use. I understand that programming for Mac is a lot different than Windows, but I would assume you are all experienced programmers and can complete this challenge in no time at all. So go at it and bring to us one of the best Minecraft clients ever created!
The mojang employees have a "tag" in front of their names (Mojang), like moderators do (mod). Basically, only 3 names to learn: Dinnerbone, Grum and Jeb.
Also, something could have been done for the issue in the snapshot(s), even if the JIRA entry isn't notified about it. Perhaps they just added an even minor change, not enough to warrant saying anything about it yet. Or another change could have a beneficial side-effect. I can not test the snapshot myself, as I do not personally run snapshots currently. (This so that I can quickly try to reproduce/confirm official 1.4.7 against my modified 1.4.7 - keeping up with weekly decompilations etc. would be way too much work for an occasional evening entertainment).
(And the crowding in a corner may be another issue, also in JIRA. I tried to reproduce that one, too, but could not get it to happen in my 1.4.7.)
Actually, only Dinnerbone (as far as i know) actually visits the forums.

NOTE: Use "Preview post" a lot when doing this, it's easy to mess up the start and end tags
