Minecraft World Management Tools, now in the Client!
Have you ever died in-game, or had your home destroyed by creepers, and thought to yourself, "Man, I wish I could just go back and do that over again"? Lucky for you, we have thought that too!
Are you ready for a savegame management tool that will let you back up and restore your worlds, quicksave on the fly, and even store backed up world copies on the Cloud, to free up hard drive space? The new Curse Client - Minecraft Update includes a host of features, including:
Saved Worlds:
Each individual world on your computer can be locally backed up for safe keeping! In addition to showing when a world was last backed up, the "More Info" tab will show you your health, level, and the number of items in your inventory, as well as give you the ability to share your world's seed with a simple click to copy option. Any saves listed on this screen can be restored.
Quicksave:
In regular intervals, the Client will create a quicksave of any given world -- These can also be created upon hitting the escape key. If you manage to fall into some lava, have a creeper destroy all your hard work, or just want to go on an NPC rampage without there being consequences, the Quick Saves will have you covered. Just click to restore the world back to its previous state!
Saved World Sync:
Any Curse Premium member will additionally have the ability to sync any world to the cloud, allowing you to download your world to any PC without the hassle!
That's all pretty cool, but what about something special for the creative minds of the community? Any artist, modder, or equally creative talent who uploads their creations to the Client via Bukkit (for Minecraft), or CurseForge (for any other game), and gets 1,000 or more downloads will get FREE Curse Premium!
Now, the Cloud Sync feature is a Premium feature, but there are some exciting things going on in the world of Minecraft, and we want to help celebrate! For the entire duration of Minecon 2012 (Friday the 23rd, Saturday and Sunday), you will be able to test the Premium Cloud Sync features for free! No sign-up, no catch, just a client that will let you try the Cloud Sync feature, worry-free.

They haven't updated the curse client for Mac yet. :/
What a terrible idea. One thing that makes Minecraft unique is there's no undo button. If this thing catches on, it will change the way we play - and not in a good way.

There's nothing that force you to use that tool, if you don't like it, don't use it, maybe you love to see more than 30hrs of hard work and more than 200 diamonds hardly mined with no xray or any other help, but I prefer to save my world and thankfully now we can aslo prevent creeper damaging the world in vanilla Minecraft server and also in SSP if we wish too with simple mods. You want to see your house destroyed, don't use it that's all.
Now for the Curse Client, only thing missing is MultiMC in it and the world would be perfect, can't play without MultiMC, makes it so much easier to have multiple copy of Minecraft and have different version and mods in each.

it could be useful for undoing very large mistakes made in creative mode
Thank you so much! Ever since I saw the video on Youtube about this, I have wanted it very badly. I already had the Curse Client, so it just updated when I logged onto my home computer. BAM! Instant love. You guys really outdid yourselves with this one: Backups...awesome! I have a program that backs up my data, but this...this is just SO much easier. Quicksaves: I love you guys! You have no idea how many times I have hit a random patch of lava in one of my stone quarries or a creeper blew up a chunk of my main NPC village. (Just today, it happened twice and I would say it happened at least three or four times last week.) Sure, back-up programs kill an element of survival, but you look me in the eye and tell me that being killed by an enderman you accidentally locked eyes with while you were carrying 19 diamonds to your enderchest is not screwed up. (Yeah, this happened to me...I was too far away to obtain in 5 mins...had to use back-up to restore. Anyway, you guys are fantastic. Great job. This is pure awesomeness.

Actually I have a different solution. I don't let creepers in my house. I also don't walk around with 200 diamonds.

I never ever walk with more diamonds than the ones I've just mined, and I go quickly to place them in a safety chest, but what would happen if your world save was corrupted and you had no way to get the savegame back because like you said, there's no undo button.
For the damn creepers, even if you light up the whole game, they still spawn around and the only way to ensure they won't is to have fences around all your stuff, they are ugly so usually I prefer to make sure they won't grief my house and that's it.
This client is one of the best clients I have ever seen. Or at least it would be if the client would support minecraft on a Mac. The features sound great, but my judgment is held back until minecraft is supported by the Curse Client.
