When and how do we update? I have only been doing this since Christmas so I don't know how to update... :/
You download the snapshot jar then replace that with minecraft.jar in /bin/ of your /.minecraft/ folder. Run the launcher and it should run the snapshot.
BTW as in Better-than-Wolves (a rather large and popular mod), derp
Also, nice bugfixes... I'll wait a few more Snapshots before I try it out, because if I know Mojang there's gonna be exponential expansion in terms of content so I look forward to that
Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
hate to say this, but theres an un-patchable dupe method still around involving region save-rollbacks same for players.dat, just copy the files and paste em to desktop, then take what u want from chests for region, or place items u have in inv for players.dat, then simply restore the save BAM instant dupe.
The idea is that you're not supposed to mess with the files while the game is running. This is considered cheating and considered playing with a modified client because you messed with the game files. Also, you can't do this on multiplayer because you cannot touch their files. So OF COURSE THIS IS 'UNPATCHABLE', If you'd like to patch this bug then you need to patch yourself and stop cheating, especially when you complain about the fact that you can cheat it gets REALLY ANNOYING.
is it just me or has fluid changed? now when I pick up a water block I've placed, the rest of the water seems to 'flow' to the lowest level before dissipating
It has been doing that since water physics of today was first introduced - Infdev I think? This is corrrect water physics.
Hyped for: planting cacti adjacent to blocks, yes!
Actually, the description doesn't exactly word this correctly, that was a bug that got fixed in snapshot 13w01b. I think what they meant to say was they fixed the bug of cactus growing next to blocks instead of popping off like it's suppsoed to if it grows next to one.
This will make autofilling storage rooms possible. (right?)
Yes. Yes it will. As a chest fills (or almost fills, to account for a hopper still having some items on/in it), just redirect your item flow to another hopper.
Although right now (in 13w01a/b) you can fill a lot of chests in a slightly clunkier fashion by just having a long string of chest->hopper->chest chains. Your chests will fill, bottom to top, until the very top one is full. Just empty the bottom one when needed and it'll fill again from the top down.
Now all we need is an item sorter, and a way to "hopper" items upward.
Jeb forget to add Nether Block of Quartz to minecraft game. I wish Jeb must add Nether Block of Quartz. When you collect many Nether Quartz Ore then go to craft table and fill in 9 slots to make Nether Block of Quartz.
Deaf and hard of hearing people use American Sign Language (ASL) by use hands. Deaf and hard of hearing people use Purple, Sorenson and Zvrs to chat with friends, family and everything in US only.
Now all we need is an item sorter, and a way to "hopper" items upward.
warning: rant
You can, with chest minecarts, and sadly this is how Mojang (according to Dinnerbone via Twitter/Minecon) intends it for the future, as they will not be adding pipe or similar, but will be working on the minecart system a bit and make users rely on that for users to move items upwards.
It agitates me that they want users to rely on the railing system for hopper use, especially as the rail system is pretty much buggy and broken, and not really worth it, Powered minecarts are slow, powered rails require large amounts of gold (which I don't like because I spend more time mining near bedrock than y:40), and powered rails don't go that fast.
It would be nice if Minecraft were a game where a large majority of players utilized the rail system (especially since the game is MINE craft, and rails are a large part of the mining industry). It would be cool if you could explore and find an area you like, build a base there, a rail to your main base, clear trees, modify the landscape, send all the materials back to your main base (where they would unload and either store or send the cart back), and quickly ride a cart between bases if you wanted to, and do similarly with mining.
Although, I doubt they will do much to accomplish this or even make the rail system reliable for the hopper system. And even if they do, it still is inconvenient. What it I want to send blocks from one floor down to another where it gets smelted, and I want it to return to the floor I sent it from? I need to use a minecart to send it up a few blocks? Is that really justified?
I hate it when a feature is implemented in a certain way for almost no other reason besides something is useless in the game. It makes sense if there is SOME other reasoning, like how slime balls are used to make sticky pistons, but they only made powered rails out of gold because gold is considered useless by most players (and, ugh, jeb got the idea from a tweet, I was angry about it as soon as I read it). Now they're making the hopper system reliant on the minecart system because many(most?) players find that useless, too.

I wonder this too. It was supposed to release on new year's. WHERE IS OUR UPDATE MOJANG?
