1. Hit the Windows button on your keyboard + R at the same time
2. Type %appdata%
3. Locate your .minecraft folder
4. Go to your bin folder located in the .minecraft folder
5. Download the new Minecraft.jar and drag it into the bin folder
6. Remove and Replace with the old one.
Note: If your old 1.8.1 jar still has mods on it that you don't want to re-add, make a backup.
How do you install it? When i download it, its in the form of a zip file so I drag the files into minecraft.jar as i I were installing a mod, but when i start up minecraft it gets stuckk on the updating screen!! help please!!!
lol, if its got all those folders and class files in it, rename it to minecraft.jar :smile.gif: then slap it in the minecraft folder in appdata :smile.gif:
Let me say this -before i play 1.9 beta someone please reply back.- Is 1.9 lag free? is it faster then 1.8.1 itself at its best? is the fps stronger/better? optifine 1.9 out? is this what we all been waiting for?
