Minecraft is a wildly popular game, something everyone here knows already. We have slung around some pretty big numbers - 25 million registered users, 5 million purchased copies of Minecraft, over a million Poket Edition copies sold - but have have you ever wanted to see those numbers in action? If so, this real-time map of players connecting to servers is definitely worth seeing.
So, what is it? This map keeps track of players connecting to SMP servers (where the connection's coming from and going to) from all over the world, in real-time! It does occasionally shut down while Mollstam fine-tunes the code, but even when not in real-time mode, you can see past traffic maps, watching server connection attempts flying around the globe from every conceivable place - it's really something to see. If you ever wondered just how many people are playing the game today, this is an excellent way to see it first-hand. Check it out!

Remember Castlevania on the old NES? These guys do, and they have found an adventure map, done by Criswell, that pays homage to the game series quite well - check it out!
Christianity in a nutshell: We have all sinned, so we deserve eternity in hell. But God (God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit) loved us so much he sent His Son to die for us, to take the punishment meant for us. All we need to do is accept it, and we have heaven headed our way.

... did I really ask that?
Lots of crossplay between America and Europe (Mostly England and France by vague approximation of where countries are), and not that much else. I did see a few Japan-only servers though.
These things always look so cool but I swear it's always the same animations and they just claim it's from some interesting source?
Plus whenever I try to see them 'live' they are 'offline'.. If only these projects were as dependable as web-cam pop-ups. ;P

So much traffic coming out of the U.S. and Europe. The long lines coming from more distant spots like Australia are really awesome! Was watching for about 10 minutes and I see only a few connections coming from Asia. Does Minecraft not appeal to people there?

Probably because the game is mainly in English? (forums, wiki, news about it, twitter posts, mojang site, etc.) even though now there are language translations.
Wait, so they did go ahead and snoop and release our data? So much for me saying no...overruled by popular opinion. Oh well, its not like every other web service doesn't do alot worse. Still, I mark this as the point where Minecraft stopped being an indie game and became a social network.
Lol, just on a side note, the banner ad below is an internet university advertising a 'Bachelor of arts (Security, Terorism and Counter-terrorism)', with pictures of guys in like SWAT uniforms.
