This week, we take a look at Glimmar's Steampunk texture pack! If you love the Victorian era, old industrial themes, cogs and steam, this is definitely worth a look. Also, be sure to check out Glimmar's thread for details!
Digital Diamond - Illusion Coaster
This is one of those videos that only comes along once in a blue moon - an optical illusion roller coaster, compliments of blupenz! Follow the player as he travels along a minecart track, but can you follow where he is, or what's going on? Your eyes might not be telling the truth...give it a watch, and see how long you can keep up!
Might get the SteamPunk texture pack, looks pretty cool. Just debating between that and the RetroNES pack I got from a CS a bit ago... (guess I could always switch between the two if I wanted ;P) And the coaster ride was neat

"What I wanna know is why the zip zoppity didn't bip bobbity the boobity doobity in the zippy dippy zop."
Is that illusion thing all on one minecart track? It doesn't seem possible.
From the looks of it - assuming it isn't video editing which it very well could be - it seems plausible that its very clever map design. As in, when you're going straight 'up' and 'down', its actually just the world built sideways. Plus, end blocks and nether blocks used in overworld. Still, very awesome all the same!
How can you call this an illusion? It is very obvious that this is not possible in the vanilla game, even if the whole world was built on the side, you can see in the very beginning that it would require the minecart to either go straight up or the tracks to have been on the side. Altering reality isn't illusion. Illusion is when something seems to be what it isn't
dude. it mite be a mod but its probobly just him making it look like the minecart is going up. like on photo editor. you can flip the picture. u can flip the world O_o... anyway, THIS WEEKS DIGITAL DIAMOND IS F***ING EPIC
I'm wondering if the illusion coaster is being played in reverse. As far as the vertical tracks and the different dimensions, the world was just built sideways, and nether and end blocks were placed in the overworld. The transparent view of the entire world was most likely retextured blocks, and the scene from the end was just built upside down.

Stop that. What part of illusion didn't you get. It's all trick camerawork and eddied textures. Example: Re-texed redstone track into normal track.
Anyone else want a update to the mine cart system that would allow the carts to go up and down walls like that? Ceilings to.
