None, I repeat none, of the perquisites for mods even begin updating until the official update comes out. No one works off snapshots, nor would I want them to. I'd rather be behind than spend all my time updating.
Even once the perquisites are updated its extremely tedious for us modders to setup a new dev environment and then we still have to fix any name or function changes.
Nor am I particularly looking forward to the shakeup the Mod API will cause. Switching to it will probably require me to rewrite half my code, and the other half probably won't work without modding the Mod API. I imagine a lot of modders will stop modding.

Do you honestly think the way it is now is any better? Go back to bed, and try getting out of it on the other side.

I just learned how to mod with modloader, and now i have to learn it all again?!
I don't hope it will be so much different from what it is now

good, those modders will be the lazy ones whom don't support their content I don't want that. This API should be the final step between Minecraft and the Mod Community, if you have to mod the API you should not be complaining as you could have further provided input to Mojang on how it should be done.

Villagers need to turn into zombies once killed by a zombie... March 24th 2012
I REALLY wish jeb would slow sown the updates, it has killed half of the servers i play on..... my poor ever dwindling server list... please for the love of god go back to having major updates every few months instead of this weekly crap. its like were back at the secret friday updates again. i remember when updates were exciting, now its just a bother, oh great waiting for bukkit again... hopefully the new api will fix this b4 it kills the communitly.....
Yeah. I wish they would make it so there will be no need for mod updates each minecraft update. That would be just awesome
Can't wait to see what's new in 1.2.5, I hope they fixed the seed issue.
seed issue? you mean that you can see seeds in smp because that was intended I think so you couldn't copy the world wich is stupid in my opinion tl;dr it's not an issue it's intended
One thing that i have been waiting for a LONG time is redstone blocks. They will make life in the quary so much easier, and they will also add a new decoration blocks, and save lots of chest space for expirienced miners.

this should be a server option and it is done to keep people from coping the seed and finding all the ore in single-player witch is annoying to anyone playing legit
If this means we will soon be able to install mods without editing jar files, I will be one happy miner! For the record, I haven't installed a single mod because of all the work involved.

use the magic launcher it handels all the mods so you don't do a thing
Definately good news. I don't use mods myself, but the multiplayer world I'm on has Bukkit item restoration and teleport mods. It'll be nice to not have to wait a week to play after an update.
I wish you guys would stop releasing these small updates and just release it as one big update. It's a pain in my rear as a server owner to deal with the players complaining about the server not being updated but having our plugins not work so that they will be griefed/etc over and over. This is annoying, please stop!
I do hope they add in slabs and stairs to match the new types of wood in 1.2.5. That would create a ton of new building possibilities.
Also, Mod API. I am so glad they're finally getting that out, even if its not until (I would guess) 1.3.
Also on the front page..... on Jebs twiter.
"The team requested more time to work on 1.2.5, so the prerelease will be out tomorrow instead. Official release still next week"
Did they check there own front page????
