Any news on the a tentative date for the release of 1.2? Also, caves were removed? I'm still generating caves, ravines and other such structures without any hassle short of having to dig out gravel and dirt (which has always been part of the deal- afterall pits of gravel lead to adventure!)
Does anybody knows if the villagers in this snapshot breed or move in into a house you built near the Village. Like if you were going to "expand" The village?

Considering the number of bugs that have been introduced, I hope Mojang waits at least a little bit and concentrates on fixing bugs prior to the release of the next "official" or formal version. Too much is in flux right now with new features like the new map file format, new blocks, and other issues that simply need to be reviewed in terms of how they interact with each other.
I expect that version 1.2 will be out before summer starts, but it is still at least more than a month away. That is just my own "educated guess", and I might be wrong on either end of that estimate. I sure hope we don't have to wait until fall for another major update.
I think 'villagers' are far too exuberant in their use of doors. I'm constantly reminded of my mother shouting "are you in or out?" They will sometimes get stuck on a door that is positioned to open outwards (towards them) and repeatedly open and close it until you push them away. Often two or more villagers will compete over a door resulting in a maddening cacophony of door-open door-close sounds. I know this isn't something unique to this snapshot but it bears mentioning.
Not sure if anyone has had this issue yet, but I started a new world after installing 12W07B, and have noticed a disproportionate number of pink sheep... they're all over the place. So weird.
I'm not sure if someone has already talked about this, but is anyone else having problems with mobs spawning in high lit areas? Also i was exploring an abandoned mineshaft no mobs spawned during the day but at night they would, the weird part was that the lighting in the mineshaft would change like the lighting outside.
So I was playing on my world and Found a Village, started building my shelter next to the village and when I finished I took a little walk around the Village and all the NPC's are gone... I Dont know how or to where. The Only thing I know is that I was on peaceful... wtf.. all the villagers! They didnt breed and I dont know how they died... hunger? lol.....dissapointing. :sad.gif:
I found out the hard way that the End doesn't generate any End Stone, Ender crystals, or obsidian pillars. It's just you, the platform, and the Ender dragon. Given how major of a bug this is, I figure it'll be fixed soon. However, my concern is that once it is fixed, when I go back into the End, there will still be no End stone, Ender crystals, or obsidian pillars. If this is so, is there a way I can make it so that it's like I've never been to the End before (in other words, regenerate the End)?
Has this happened to anyone else? When making a creative map in 12w07 (a and :cool.gif:, when you are walking through a biome where wolves and ocelots would normally spawn, they MASSIVELY SPAWN at your location? like, you walk or sprint and leave a trail of wolve/cats?
it would be nice if you made a new villager types 'Builder' 'Miner' and 'lumber jack' so they can BUILD new stuff make mines and go collecting for wood!! IT WOULD BE EPIC!!!!!!!! And also reducing the popularity of the villages there are way to many. :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:
As announced yesterday, Snapshot 12w07b has been released a day early. Among other things, this snapshot includes the addition of a new light source as well as multiple changes to AI and a new file format for Minecraft worlds. Mojang's official blog post for this snapshot can be found here.
The list of changes for this snapshot includes:
- Added new world file format called “Anvil” (256 max height and 4096 block IDs** See note below).
- Multi-player light calculations do no longer cause affected blocks to be transmitted to the clients, instead the clients will recalculate the light on their own.
- Villagers will repopulate villages based on how many houses there are available. AI programmer Jon explains what a "house" is here.
- Some nights in villages will be worse than others… There's word of zombie sieges on minecraftforum.net.
- Added a redstone-controlled light source. Info on the new redstone lamp can be found here.
- Decreased chance for the rare mob drops.
- All animals use the new AI system now.
** The game can’t use the full range of IDs yet because there are still some assumptions that IDs above 256 are items. **
To install the snapshot, I'm just replacing the Minecraft.jar file in my Minecraft folder with the .jar file from the original post right? I'm doing that and I can't get past the Mojang screen.
Don't look directly at the bugs!!!!!!
