Overwrite the minecraft.jar in your .minecraft folder in %appdata%. Don't forget to make a back-up of your world first in case the world converter screws something up.
To get to the appdata minecraft folder, go to file explorer (press winbutton+e), type %appdata% in the bar, navigate to .minecraft/bin, and there's your minecraft.jar. Copy the downloaded .jar over it.
Wouldn't suprise me if someone is making or made already a video of it.
I made sure to be fast
It'll certainly simplify creations now!
After farting around with the new lamps I discovered that they pass redstone current through them as though they are solid. This enables you to hit one with a redstone torch to light up 9 of them. Pistons can push them regardless of if they are lit or not. Redstone dust on the same level as the lamp won't light them but if you put the dust one level higher it does (similar to powering pistons in the same way).

I love the new added height and the fact worlds stay the same just more room for building, but this bug keeps kicking me off MC when I use a creeper egg in the new height zone and spawn one. I just get kicked off.
The sieges are amazing! I couldn't survive while helping th villagers! One night, literally hundreds of zombies! Villagers need some kind of defense, and it must be really powerful.
Oh no! How do the seiges work? Do they begin at night in places where the seed says there should be an NPC village? I tore down an NPC village and I'm building an amusement park with rollercoasters there and I do NOT want zombie attacks every night.

Babies?
Yay.
Lighting does not work anymore.
No shadows, no dark areas. Light everywhere.
Are you kidding me?
