Are you ****ing kidding me? You guys have got to get some better policies and ideas for your contests. The last one was a fail because jolicraft already had a halloween texture pack out. And due to jolicraft's huge popularity it was inevitable it would win the contest whether or not it was actually the best halloween texture pack. This is probably going to be the same situation as there are already plenty of steampunk mods out there. The time frame for this one is even more ridiculous. Creating a good mod takes much longer then creating a good texture pack. Therefore I can almost guarantee a mod made prior to this will win, therefore defeating the purpose of this contest. If your going to try and connect to the community, do it in such a way that doesn't make you look dumb.

The easiest way to get rid of this issue would be to simply create a policy in contests that stated that no creations made prior to the creation of the contest can be entered. The reason should be obvious as those contestants would have an unfair advantage on having more work done on their creation then other contestants.

Honestly, you should have a contest for contest ideas. You can easily engage anyone in the community since everyone on the forums is capable of entering as they do not lack any necessary talents since none are required.

Contests are not a bad idea. You just need to put more thought in to them.

however, the fact that joliween is insanely popular proves that it was the best, because its insanely popular, meaning its better than the others.

Lol wow, Acidic Taco is correct. You guys are going about this all wrong. The contest was rigged. I know this because I witnessed you guys revise the final contestants just to include Jolicraft. I know it was revised because I refreshed and saw mine co. at the top of that list but I went to show my fiancee and saw that when I clicked refresh again the post was gone but reposted an hour later to admit Joliween. I was pissed because I thought they were including the overlooked Texture Packs and saw that they just wanted to make themselves look good by admitting a Texture Pack that already has enough attention. Come on, wasn't the point of the contest to get new people involved and to see some new creativity? A new texture pack unpublished would have been much better and much more fair. Also, seven days was barely enough time to even get the Terrain done. I thought it was funny because you said 7 days and in 6 days last minute you announce a deadline for submissions. Kinda a kick in the rear don't you think? Anyways, I can't wait to see if Pchan3 is an a-hole like Andre Joliceur or a pretty good guy who wouldn't shove his stuff in just to see it on the front page even when he knows it won't affect the overall traffic of his mod. Just saying.

Well, looks like I'll have to submit my mod for this...

However, I may not, just to be fair. I've put a lot of work and time into it already, and it really wouldn't be fair on people who make theirs for this contest.

The majority of staff are not from the US, location does not have any effect on applications unless users are needed to actively moderate sections where the moderation may be limited at certain times of the day.

The staff here vary widely in age, I have seen great work come from the younger members volunteering to moderate.

I find it funny that people are complaining that this is rigged or something.
This is JUST a contest, and one that people enter so they can show others what they can do.
I would submit something as well, if I could mod.
