The diamond thing is rather unrealistic but a Mob tower people do build offten to get gunpowder, arrows, string, bones, and feathers to make more stuff like bonemeal, TNT, wool, ect. but adding enderman's abillity to move blocks mean that ALL that hard work you put into building a Mob tower mounting to nothing.
So appearently anyone who expresses his opinion on these forums is a troll \ Minecraft hater \ Party pooper.
That's good to know.
If I was a troll I wouldn't have 800 god damn posts on this forums.
If I was a Minecraft hater I wouldn't buy the game.
If I was a Party pooper you wouldn't be so immature.
Oceans would only cost you more time to get to places.
I want more mobs in the oceans, I want better ways to travel it, I want exclusive blocks for underwater, I want fish mobs and rare builds.
I want attack animations, different looking armour, better ways to travel, a reason to explore.
Not to mention how dull mining became after 2 weeks - 1 month of gameplay.
Looking at landscapes becomes boring after a while.
I don't know, maybe I just had too high expactions from 1.8, I expected it to change gameplay, change Minecraft as we know it, yet still be the game we loved.
All I want is new art gear for the old canvas called "Minecraft".
Sigh, maybe it's just too early to tell, maybe when 1.8 is released it would be much better.
I wouldnt be too harsh on him, I guess we all have very high expectations of something in a while, or dont like something even if it does make it better. I have to agree I also had some more expectations on some aspects, but meh, its still in BETA and improving :smile.gif:
Notch keep up the good work, also when is the release date for 1.8? Ive heard its the 28th (tomorrow) is that right?
A lot of ppl told me it's gonna be released today it it true???
can anyone confirm it?
A lot of people are saying 1.8 is coming on the 16th of September. Some say 20th or longer, even. Some are saying tomorrow. Some are saying early September. I don't think there is an actual release date.
....Can someone tell me how this update will actually enchance the gameplay, making adventure a big part of Minecraft?
Because I don't see it.
-Enderman? Weird, I don't think they actually fit in the game... And mostly annoying because they can teleport.
-Eating animation? Yeah, looks nice, but... How will this add adventure?
-Mineshafts? Yeah, ok, it gives the world a deserted touch. Would be nice if there would be mineshafts which were actually in use by the villagers.
-Sprinting, ok, it works, you can knock mobs back... So much fun... That will bore you after five seconds. Nice, but not enough to add adventure.
-Leveling? I like the idea, but come with some possibilities first. What will it do? Right now, it's useless!
-Villages. I am looking forward to this, but if Notch doesn't want you to be able to talk with the villagers, what can you do with them? Wave some retarded signs in the hope they'll understand you?
They're adding more than this, I know that. But I think Minecraft needs to go deeper.
More advanced crafting, like Better Than Wolves. You've seen everything in the vanilla game so quickly it becomes boring.
You can build a castle, some redstone circuitry if you want, and go collect diamonds for the rest of the time. Nothing interesting to craft.
I hope they will add items which you can only find in dungeons, or get from villagers. Add some life to the world, like horses and birds. Make the desert biomes extremely hot. Add more interesting, mysterious buildings.
Make combat more interesting (Because from the looks of it, only the bow has become interesting) by adding shielding or something. Just be able to wear a shield, which you can use by pressing Q or something, but you can't do anything else while shielding, except for moving, slightly slower, that is. Let us be able to create interesting weapons, or let us find them in the dungeons.
Make exploring worthwile, let there be more things to do, to craft. Add the Baby Animals, for breeding. More plants to farm. Minecraft has so much potential, but you're keeping the game too empty.
And otherwise I'll just hope for good mod support (So you can easily add things to your server, without having ID problems and other conflicts) so we can make Minecraft better ourselves, easy.
My main expectations from 1.8 are:
-Enderman - to feel safe in a house with EGHTHUNDRED traps
-New lightning - oh saint pumpkin, I just LOVE it when lighning has like different colors and so on. To be honest lightnin now - is just smooth light-dark stuff. MOAR colors, I say. With new lighning we will have a.... PARTEEEEYYY
-Underground ravines, ruins and stuff like this. This are the most adventures thing out there. Dont you want unlimited exploring of this things? And like imagine if those ruins and ravines will have randomly generated TRAPS?
-Stuff Mojang doesnt say about. Maaan, really? You think PAX and stuff and twee-tweet and gogley+ will tell you EVERYTHING about 1.8? I know that Notch is giving surprises to fans of MC.
And that's it. You just wait there for 1.8, it will give you more than you just saw, ok?
Lol I find it funny how so many people type lightning instead of lighting...
Anyways ontopic. 1.8 looks good so far. Endermen though from what I saw seemed a little less dangerous than what notch made them appear to be... And if the video showing a guy killing one in one hit with a diamond pick axe is true... Im rather sad. I was hoping they would be hard to kill lol..
But alas, I haven't played and things can change alot before release so yeah. I'll just wait. Though waiting is killing me just about :tongue.gif:
This will be the most epic thing to happen to this world since Notch was born.

Well ****, you don't need to rag on this update man, this is probably the biggest update for beta possibly.. And your only argument is that the title of the update is misleading it seems.
This update isn't supposed to make adventure a "big" part, it is only supposed to make adventuring a more worthwhile experience. Notch did say that watermelons aren't grown like wheat, so there's another farming option. For the NPC villages he never said he didn't want to let them communicate or not house NPC's, he said they weren't added as of yet. If you even followed minecraft 1.8 you would see the RECENT interview with jeb, on 1.8 and jeb mentioned trading with the villagers
To me, there is not much more that can be added to minecraft, that doesn't take away from the feel that minecraft has tried to achieve for so long. They cannot simply just add a mod in, because for one, Notch and Jeb would have too much pride to out rightly add in someone's work, so they would end up tweaking it A LOT. 2: I may not know much about coding and all that, but I would assume it would conflict with some stuff.
To me, adventuring is going out to see all of the cool things instead of spending hours mining, and building. Which the underground ravines, and better dungeons, etc. will add A LOT to "adventure" part which you say this won't include..
About that mod support, that will just make it easier to ADD mods, that won't mean it will make all mods compatible with each other or be able to be used on servers.
I'm guessing that 1.8 releases end of next week or beginning of the week after, as well as, having a few things added in we didn't hear of yet. Perhaps we get suprised with NPC's eh?
@Ryandolan123 That is only for Creative mode, which if you have ever played, you would see that you had unlimited of everything and there was no mobs, just the terrain. It was made like that so you can just build your heart out.
ahh, good ol' classic :3

I would imagine 1.8.. Also supposedly Notch might add the update in multiple parts. So maybe 1.8.2 or something?
