It works pretty smooth, would be pretty cool to have implemented into the game. I sure hope pistons will push pistons, because it seems they only push standard blocks. I'd also like it to launch you. But it's still a work in progress, so...

Chickens are spawning in my house! Help! PLEASE!
Your house has been compromised therefore you must blow it to hell.
What's Mojang's problem with rapidly ascending?Water elevators where nerfed on this premise and now their own version of pistons has no entity launching ability.Mojang must have a hardy for their ladders or something.
Would a feature where you can put push objects into a chest using a piston be possible.
It would make collecting object at the bottom of a mob trap automatic.
I liked the idea on how sand (and yourself included) would shoot up into the air when placed on top of it... This pistons update wouldn't be complete without that addition :sad.gif:
Wow, there's a bunch of whiners. Launch things with tnt or use portals for vertical transport. Or for horizontal transport for that matter. Enter portal, take two steps enter other portal and you can travel from bedrock to the top of the map if you know how to set them up. Pistons launching things doesn't make sense no matter what the mod did. If it launched sand and gravel and players it should launch all blocks and that's not reasonable or practical.
I think the pistons look amazing and my only complaint is showing them to us while we still have no idea how long it will be before they get released.
I think Jeb purposely do not want to push containers (chest/furnace/dispenser) as this will involve in complicated calculation in the inventory attached to it which will also increase the workload of the game engine.
Especially these things are to be designed in SMP environment. The flicking of redstone signals is already a framerate killer for SMP and I don't think the developer wants more things to be calculated for no meaning.
There is one thing I think the texture of the piston is somewhat incorrect - blocking water. Shouldn't it be sealed to the side so that water would not passed through/destroy the piston?
Anyway I am having lots of idea on how to play with the piston. Piston that cover the light source, piston that pump water upstream, piston that...
My 2 cents.
ya maybe hopefully not
the mod is better (at this time period maybe not when its done) for the following reasons
1)thickness the bar that pushes the top needs to be thicker
2) doesn't launch dirt gravel and player/mobs (although it can be used for other things)
3) can probably catch on fire(this is just an assumption since the top part is all wood
4) the modded version can push chests and stuff like that
things this one has better
1) looks
2) .................
so ya
i think i will stick with the mod i want to here more about the adventure mode
Well they actually look fine and I can't wait to have them in game, but I really miss the possibility of launching things... maybe you could add another "powered" piston version, which requires other materials and is capable of launching what the player puts on it.
That sounds like a good long-term solution to me, although with redstone already in the recipe, what else would you add?
I can't wait for that "hidden entrance", I definitely need one of those in my tower. And the Do-Nothing at the end was great too!
I hope your right, because it just won't be the same. :tongue.gif:
