Whilst all board rules apply in all sections, including each section in Minecraft General, there are some specific rules in certain sections. All users are expected to read and follow the section specific rules, as you are with the global board rules.
All global rules apply in every Minecraft General section unless stated otherwise in this thread.
This section is in place purely to discuss the most recent official Minecraft Update. There are section specific rules:
Duplicate threads will be locked, deleted or possibly merged. Whilst this is a global rule it is more important for organisation in this section.
Only discussion of released features is allowed in this section.
This section is in place purely to discuss the upcoming Minecraft Updates. There are section specific rules:
Discussion of speculated and hinted features to upcoming Minecraft updates is allowed in this section.
Suggestions to add to upcoming updates are not allowed in this section.
The discussion section is for general discussion about Minecraft and it's development. There are no specific rules here, all global rules apply.
This section is more unique in the sense that users NEED responses. Because of this there are section specific rules:
Bumping in this section is allowed after a certain amount of time. You may bump your thread here after 12 hours without a response. This is because (as stated) users actually need a response here.
Do not post support for mods in this section. If you need help installing a mod, please use the mods thread in "Mapping and Modding".
Do not ask for "forum" support here. This section is for game support. If you need help with the forum itself, please use the "Forum Discussion & Info" or "Help -- contact the forum staff" sections.
Do not use this section for general computer support. This section is for Minecraft support.
This section is here for posting and discussing suggestions for the game. There are section specific rules for this section:
Do not post more than one suggestion per thread. Very closely related suggestions are fine, but separate suggestions require separate threads. "Wishlists" will be closed or deleted.
Do not post redundant suggestions. If it has been suggested in the past (without significant differences) the thread will be closed. The Forum Staff reserve the right to decide whether a suggestion is too similar to another. Replying to older threads to continue discussion, share ideas and show support for the suggestion is acceptable.
Do not post suggestions that are vague or lacking detail. Please ensure yoursuggestions are clear, concise and fleshed out. Suggestions that are too short or lacking in detail will be either closed or deleted.
Do not post anything along the lines of "There is a mod for this" or "Just downgrade" without contributing to the suggestion itself. Noting a similar mod as a point of interest is fine, but do NOT use a mod to dismiss a suggestion. Telling a user that downgrading their Minecraft to remove specific features is fine; but do not use it to dismiss a suggestion.
This section is for posting and discussing seeds for maps that you consider impressive in some way. You may also post downloads to un-edited maps in this section, but you must also provide the seed. There are section specific rules for this section:
Do not post edited maps in this section, any maps that you have edited should be posted in the "Maps" section of the forum.
Global rules also apply to the seeds themselves. Do NOT post seeds which are offensive, racist or would otherwise be breaking any rules.
This section is for discussing redstone and pistons. You can use this section for redstone tutorials, asking for advice on using redstone and posting your creations made using redstone and pistons. There are section specific rules for this section:
The focus of this section is redstone itself, please do not discuss creations that are not made using redstone and/or pistons in this section.
Please make use of the search functions, don't make a thread about a creation if there is another thread about a very similar creation.
When contacting a sectional moderator, whether it be for help or to dispute a warning, please remain polite, I can guarantee that you will receive a better response. The sectional moderators are volunteers, and they have the right to ignore offensive or threatening messages from users.
If you do not receive a satisfactory response, or feel that an admin should be contacted, feel free to send me, DanielleStarr, or Elystus a PM. You can also use the "Help -- contact the forum staff" section for forum support.
