You also need to factor in the 'accompanying adult' factor.
From my experience in Florida there was a lot of families there who where only there because one of the their children wanted to go, I witnessed a spectacular argument at the end of the first day when one of the parents had dared to suggest they did not bother going to the 2nd day but to Disney instead.. That was 5 tickets sold for only 1 person who wanted to attend. The rest of the family clearly had no interest in being there.
I'd guess that if they don't implement some sort of age restriction like they did in previous years, at 50% of the tickets will be sold to people who don't really want to go.
If you stay up and go to the tickets-buying page thing as soon as they go on sale i'd say you'd have a better chance of getting in. Considering the amount of people who'd actually be so into minecraft that they'd want to pay that much money to go to a big convention for it, I'd say there's under a million people who are even thinking of going.
What do you mean "If you stay up". Last year (2013), tickets sold out in 3 seconds. You have to stay up to stand a chance.
its not fair those of us who are desperate to go never get to go because those people who go just because 1 person they know wants to go minecon is 20 days before my birthday but i even if i ask my entire family for 2 tickets i probably wont get to go Its Unfair And I HATE it sorry just had a rage min
Yeah, it's sad that it will be so rare for many of us to go to Minecon.
But...
As soon as Arizona Minecon comes, ima bug n bug n bug n bug until dey rage out that "yes".

When i was going to purchase tickets for Minecon 2013, the second i got in, they said i could only purchase 1 ticket. I waited like 7 hours just to get a message saying that i couldnt get the 2 tickets i needed. They sold out so fast
Look at it this way, there are over 10,000,000 copies of Minecraft sold on the PC version alone.
They are selling 10,000 tickets.
10,000,000 divided by 10,000 equals 1,000 so technically you have a 1 in 1,000 chance of getting a ticket.
However there is more:
According to a recent search about 30,000,000 people play Minecraft on any platform type.
However there are the small percentage of people that buy more than one platform type so lets change that number down to 25,000,000.
People who live far away wouldn't be able to afford the tickets and flight so lets move that number down to 20,000,000.
So technically your chance of getting a Minecon ticket is roughly 1 in 2,000.
Good luck,

Ok thanks for the info. Gotta get my lucky charm.

The capes… they have.. If you buy a ticket you get it in a goodie bag.
This is actually astonishingly true.

Hah, one can only dream.
............................................................Wow....................................................
Mind = Blown
Well, looks like that pushes my chances of going to Minecon to a mere 0.2%, from a 0.040% chance.
