Got really excited about the new update having waited ages for this particular one before starting a new survival world. About an hour in to my new world I started to get a prickling sensation on the back of my neck as I suspected something was amiss. I noticed that sheep were not dropping mutton, I couldn't see the new flowers anywhere and i'll be damned if I can find any of the new biomes. Is the new update actually working yet?
Oh, I thought the update log dated 10th Dec meant it was actually out now? On Xbox dashboard it says new update available. So if we assume around ten days can we expect it at month end?
Update notifications on the Xbox UI are for system updates, not game updates. TU31/CU19/PS 1.22 has been submitted to MS and Sony for final testing. (See here.) We should have it in a week or two. I will know exactly when it downloads because I don't keep my X1 in standby, or allow auto-updates. If you have your system set up for "instant-on", you will know when you see the changes in the game.
Yeah I normally have power save set, but switched it the other day to download the new gold games. I like to know when an update is due! Can't wait for this one though, so much new stuff.

And since the update is out, the thread's topic now is perfect. Any new issues to report? In particular, I want to know if redstone is in any way adversely affected, particularly in complex machines. Frame rate still good? I will wait for some feedback before allowing the update on my system. Thanks!
Anybody know if worlds saved prior to the patch will get the new biomes in ungenerated areas? I purposely did not leave a very small area in this world. Thanks!
If you have a saved world on a larger map that you have not completely explored anything outside of your explored map (unexplored area) can possibly still generate the new biomes.

They do generate new biomes in areas where chunks haven't been loaded. I have found at least 3 ocean monuments in my world. I haven't found Mesa, or Ice spikes but Savanna and Roofed Forest, plus a few others. Just load up a creative copy and fly around. I have noticed my world loads pretty slow
Sadly, you are wrong. Or rather, you are right in that the redstone circuits still work, but the animation of large systems looks like it went backwards in optimization about 3 versions. It looks horrible now--laggy, with this ugly blacking out of blocks that move, falling behind in timing, then racing forward to catch up. It's worse even than the 360 version was before the update. I have a couple of videos of a 24-hour clock I made, in the show your creations board. That's what it looked like before this horrid update. I'll post a new one sometime to compare. Right now, I'm too angry to do anything with Minecraft anymore today.
It seems to me the devs care more about all the fluff added than about maintaining the integrity of what they have already created, and that is quite disappointing indeed.
Yeah, lots of great new stuff added, but it comes with issues.
Maps not connecting properly, audio missing from doors closing, no extreme hills, haven't found a village yet and the biomes seem too small, condensed. Hopefully fixed in next patch but disappointed with the biome issue. I like the new enchanting system. It took me a while to work out why it was only costing me 3 levels for a level 30 enchantment!

We could get it today...or a week from today. I expect it'll drop in the next couple days.
The XBox One Dashboard states, that the Update is here, but it will not update. It says it on the Store Dash.

If you DO have instant-on, boot MCX1E and start a new tutorial. If the world is recognisable, you don't have the update

Don't they usually announce it in the game when a major update is out? Also I think you can go into the options and check the latest update info.
Not anymore. As far as I can tell, they removed the "What's new?" section under "How to Play"

From what I have seen my redstone machines work fine.
X-ray vision glitch fixed though.
Finally we have slime block and armor stands.
Overall awesome update.

Then sell your Console. Minecraft PC 1.8 had few bug fixes 1.8.1 - 1.8.9. So I guess Java and C++ (XBox) are different. Weird o_0
