Repairing Items Costs Way Too Much compared to the PC version. They get to repair items with level 5 and two levels of 4 on their item for only a few XP points. Why do we, (non-PC editions), have to shell out so much more xp for repairs? Makes me sick. This needs to be addressed soon.
(Talking about the Anvil. Not the Enchantment Table)
It isn't too big of a deal when blaze spawners work again. But yeah, if spawners are "working as intended" than I would like to see them update to the PC enchanting system.

It's not gaining the experience that I'm talking about, cause I can go to the nether and mine quartz ore all day long. The issue is in the title... please reread and then go look at PC footage in regards of repairing items with the anvil. thanks.
But does it not require lapis lazul to do that as well Or is that just the enchanting?
Fuzzy,
Lapis lazuli is only for enchanting on the PC. Consoles do not require lapis for enchanting as you should know already. Using the anvil costs to much to repair items with high levels on them... especially three high level enchantments on one item This is what I'm talking about.
For anyone else that has questions, go to the wiki page for reference.
Well, to be fully accurate, the anvil costs were adjusted DUE to the change in enchanting mechanics. With that said, I don't think anyone would be opposed to those changes of course they were in 1.8... and we are only at 1.6.4. 4J has been charactisically silent on what the next content update will contain.
Yeah I know that it is in PC and not Xbox. What I am trying to say is there will be a cost if we move to lesser experience needed. That cost being lapis.
On console it does seem a bit expensive to repair certain items, those being the ones with 3 high levels on them i.e Fort 3, Unbreak 3, Eff 4-5 on a pickaxe. I went to my throw away world and used such a pick all the way until it was about to break, then switched to creative to see how much it actually costs to repair....about 47 levels to completely repair a Fort 3, Unbreak 3, Eff 5 diamond pick. That is quite a lot of levels to spend on one thing, however in a survival mode it wouldn't let me do it anyway, the old Too Expensive pop-up lol. All in all, I agree that the costs should change. Hopefully we can get the Lapis enchanting, that way we don't really need to "repair" anything since it will be more beneficial to just enchant again and again!

If the console edition is like 1.6.4 then you should be able to rename your items to stop the cost from increasing (or even lower the cost depending on how much prior work penalty has accumulated, renaming permanently sets it to 2); by doing this, I was able to repair even an Efficiency V, Fortune III, Unbreaking III diamond pickaxe over a hundred times back when I used one as my sole mining tool while caving. Note that it was only repairable with diamonds or a mostly damaged pickaxe though, costing 37 levels per diamond (which is really cheap considering I easily made it up from the XP from ores mined with it (Unbreaking III makes it even cheaper than a pickaxe with Efficiency V, Fortune III, which is repairable with a new pickaxe for 39 levels for the same number of uses), plus the enchantment table just gathers dust since I never need to replace it; as a result, I've never made XP farms despite regularly spending 30+ levels to repair highly enchanted items).
By contrast, in 1.8 (PC) you are forced to regularly enchant new items, which completely offsets any advantage in spending fewer levels (only for the first few repairs, something a lot of people conveniently omit when claiming repairing is better in 1.8)

Renaming your items to stop the cost from increasing (or even lower the cost depending on how much prior work penalty has accumulated, renaming permanently sets it to 2) ... doesn't work on either Xbox Editions.
Still costs way too much to repair an item... just to get it to be somewhat repaired... brown to somewhat green.
This will change in a future version when we bring in the new Enchanting changes.

Ok... Can you provide any details? Also in a future update... CU 12? ... 13, or do we have to wait even longer?
At the moment I don't have any details on which update will include this change.

my issue is the increase of xp needed each time something needs to be repaired, even for named objects. My first repair on a Ef3/Ubrk4 diamond pickaxe was 27 xp and 3 diamonds to get back to 100% from red line adding a name the first time took me to 35xp. After a few dozen repairs and 3 anvil breaks, it costs me 39 and 1 diamond to take from red to orange. .. when i did that and got more XP, it said 1 diamond was too expensive.. basically rendering my pickaxe worthless.
Also, when repairing/merging axes... why is there a 10-15 xp level difference between which axe is is what spot?

For those of you that vote... explain why.

PC does not. It only cost a few points of xp to repair items, even with three high level enchantments on a particular item. Hence the post.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
