Agreed, I had originally suggested this idea as a recipe in Survival mode, but as was pointed out at the time, that can be too OP in Multiplayer. but for creative, I think it is a fine idea.

Yeah I think so. You could really make things interesting if you made the kinds of monster spawners be any kind, whether it would be nether based mobs or whatever dimension would be interesting.
Like the idea. Would it just be spawners that you could find in a world or spawners for all the enemies?
I would imagine that for Host Players that want to make an Adventure Map of their own theme, they would appreciate free control over making their spawners for any in game creature, not just enemies (even passive mobs, wild mobs, or villagers).
The way I thought it could be used is that it'd be a default pig when placed, but then changed accordingly by using a mob egg on it, and (when and where applicable) also being about to add items/armour to the mob inside.

Far as I saw there's was made after mine (not that it matters to me)....
But I can see that being the case of just using mob eggs on them to change them.

I brought it up in my suggestion from mid October, and was told at that time that it had been brought up multiple times already to be added into creative mode:

Since you really can only get Spawn eggs in Creative mode at this time, this would be fine... but if there was ever a way introduced to get/make spawn eggs in Survival mode (I remember a few suggestion threads involving this idea), you might have to make the stipulation that ONLY the default 'pig' spawner could be changed with a Spawn egg, or, I suppose that you could just remove the ability to alter a spawner in Survival mode entirely.
There s a big problem with putting mob spawner in creative menu, lets say there is an idiot who wants to spawn in 40 to 50 or even a 100 that would freeze your xbox or even corrupt your minecraft because of the speed they spawn in minutes that could put 100 to 1000 mobs in.
mob spawners of all types exists already in the game, They are just not given to us in creative to place. I dunno why its this way, and its the same way on the PC version even at its current version, however mods like TMI/and NEI will give access to mob spawners.
I believe that when we get trading with villagers one of the trades they will offer is a 'pig spawner'. Spawners no matter how many you have still must abide by the mob cap limit.
The only way I have found to break the mob cap limit is with silverfish and its no easy task as one needs to build a machine that allows silverfish to infect cobble or stone blocks and store them away in a huge block, with that done; you begin breaking the blocks and damaging the silverfish which causes a chain reaction of other silverfish to break out and before you know it you have ALOT of angry silverfish. This is actually the most exp i've seen in one chain reaction, enough to go from 0 to nearly 57.

The game will cap it. Also, the spawners themselves will stop spawning when there are too many of that monster near it.
I've used redstone to substitute spawners. In one of my mini games I used pressure plates, redstone circuits, and dispensers to make spawners. sure there are bugs in the system but it's the next best thing. I'll post about it in the creation forum in case anyone is interested

I agree. If you did place loads of spawners, the game would probably start to lag.
Not significantly... there is a spawn limit... the spawners just stop working once it hits that cap until the MOB population declined bellow the cap to allow for new spawning.
Just open the Menu with X and then it's in one of the sections. It'd be interesting I think.
Just place Mob Spawners wherever we want etc. Maybe have it be used in some mini games where it's like a tournament sort of.
Thoughts?

It would definitely save space on the menus.

okay good for you?? :/
That's fine
If I can have all of them be in a hole in the ground and keep me from the animals I'm all good with that
