I thought of a new mode that can be exclusive to xbox since pc users can get this easily via mods.
It's called apocalypse mode,from the apocalypse mod.
Basically,you have one minecraft week to build up a base and shelter and at the end of that week,your minecraft world basically starts spawning mobs EVERYWHERE,like a zombie apocalypse.
This mode would be fun,since after all we only have creative,survival,and hardcore coming up.
I really like the sound of this... It sounds awesome..there could possibly be a separate leader boards for it?... but idk.. and as for the mob caps they could change it to where only hostile mobs are able to spawn. No thing else.. This would drastically increase the difficulty of the game and adding the random ability for them to spawn in light would be pretty awesome too. How about any nether portals constructed spawn angry zombie pigman into the overworld at a high but random rate?.. and the end be completely removed. Would be pretty interesting as the days go on the harder the mobs get and after so long nether mobs are able to spawn as well..idk..just my ideas..
I love the sound of this idea, but please take out ghasts and creepers. They don't seem apocalypse like anyways. I would prefer if those mobs were taken out because, well, actually, I don't care about creepers, but ghasts make it impossible to kill things in the nether. I have to reset it almost every time, because it is a firey craphole when I am done. Either take them out as a whole or take out the fire part out.

there's many different types of blast resistant blocks that are impermeable to ghast fire. They're extremely weak and it doesnt take much to kill them. Really the only annoyance to them is their sound and tendency to show up when you're trying to work on something...
Yes! I think this is good idea. I would like that. Because I always prepare and protect myself, but nothing happens... I think the safe time should be decreased to 1, or 2 days... 1 week... it's just too easy, I could say
The Solar Apocalypse mod seems more interesting to me then a monster spawn madness.
There is a mob limit on the xbox, so having your complete world overrun by mobs would be a bit hard.
Or a Rain/ flood apocalypse.
After 7 days the water levels will go up (constant rain), and every (no closed off) area will be filled with water.
This will continue (1 level a day) until water is up to world height.
Mobs will try to spawn on every dry piece of (dark) land, and the only places you can get passive animals to spawn is on a island at world hight, or a lit up area you build underground (if you have grass there)
I'm indifferent to the idea, because I don't play for monsters, but it seems to me that if you increased the spawn rate and left the hostile mod limit alone, you'd still have all the monsters you can eat. What I mean is that there doesn't need to be 100 monsters, there could just be a dozen, if another dozen respawn every time you kill the first dozen.

that would kinda take away the "hardness" effect,and that would be basically killing a dozen monsters over and over and over again

Zombie Apocalypse: Zombies are the only mobs to spawn at night. (Yes/No)
Flood Apocalypse: During the Apocalypse, water level rises after every Minecraft day. (Yes/No)
Spawn with Sword: You spawn with an Iron Sword in your hand. (Yes/No)
Days Until Apocalypse: The Apocalypse will begin after 1-7 Minecraft days. (1/2/3/4/5/6/7)
Day and Night Mobs: Zombies (and Skeletons if not in Zombie Apocalypse), will survive in daylight. (Yes/No)
Just a dozen isn't a danger. having mobs everywhere you want to go is the real danger.
Hostile mobs spawn in adjacent areas as you move around the world (and despawn when you move further away). There don't need to be 100 hostiles you can't see chewing up your XBox's ram. A lesser number of more rapid,targeted spawns would be sufficient to make it brown-trousers time and give the impression that the map is swarming with monsters (when in fact, all the monsters are just next to you)
Ram limitations are a factor on the XBox, I don't suggest this to be contrary, but because I think it's got more chance of being implemented.

I love all the options except the flood apocalypse.
Because think about it,if your world started out normal with trees,biomes,etc.,then imagine the LAG you would get with water suddenly appearing and covering the map
If I can make a suggestion,maybe it could be that one specific area,like a riverbank or a beach,floods over many minecraft months.
That way,flood apocalypse wouldn't be so hard
Also another option might be "Make night longer",for all the hardcore mobfighters out there

You'd have to stockpile food and eventually go out for wood etc etc.
