I'd be forever happy for horses to be added and tameable/rideable. id have way too much fun creating stables forthem..... Hell, I'd even pay for that. As long as they.look better then the cows... Bahaha
i agree though that the water needs added danger to it.
I agree that the oceans are too tame, sharks are the best water based idea I've seen here yet.
I also like the idea of horses for a passive/rideable mob (riding pigs? WTF...)
But what this game lacks is any sort of end boss, or even a boss. I know we're getting the Enderdragon once we get the End, but how about something that is more of an epic challenge without requiring it's own dimension or being the size of a small airplane? Giants are a possible contender for this role, they'd be harder to kill than a regular hostile mob, giving you at least some semblance of challenge.
My best idea would be the Wizard. On the highest point of every map a moderately sized mossy cobblestone tower would spawn. Within would be a chest containing a crystal sphere. If the player leaves the sphere untouched, the wizard stays imprisoned. But if the player takes the sphere, it spawns a wizard somewhere on the map who can cast fireball spells like Ghast fireballs, heal by eating a food item, and summon mobs. Health will regenerate if left alone, so if you fight and flee, he'll eventually be back up to peak strength. Once vanquished, his drop would be the crystal sphere. You can keep it in inventory or put it in any chest.
Once placed in a chest, so long as the sphere is kept in a chest, the wizard stays vanquished. But if you take it from the chest, the Wizard respawns somewhere in the caverns and will then seek to reclaim his tower. If the tower is vacant, he is back in place. If it is occupied, he will build a smaller tower somewhere else and launch occasional attacks against his former lair (maybe during lightning storms for dramatic flair). His chest can also contain items for enchantment (enchanting bench, bookshelves, XP potions). (Considering that we're not getting enchantment until later than the next update, might as well wishcast.)
The benefits are that you get a more challenging Boss character to fight, and using the crystal sphere spawn dynamic, players can fight the wizard as many times as they want, and if players don't want to fight them they can leave the sphere untouched when discovered. Plus it will be a more intelligent mob, and give the game a dramatic villain for the player to fight.
Bill Gates. Nuff said. He'll be able to open doors and will steal diamonds, gold ingots, and slime balls. You can trade with him villager style, although everything will cost either a stack of diamonds or gold, and everything he gives you won't work properly XD
You know everyone says the water is to peaceful and boring, so I came up with an idea! What if an atlantis like building ( very rare) spawned under water. inside would be fish like villagers that live in a large city, that surrounds a massive building.
The building would have to look really nice and detailed, and it would act as an underwater stronghold. Instead of using Enders pearls to find it you could use a oysters pearl (new oyster mob). Once inside you can find a portal that leads to a big domed arena, where you must fight the kracken! Surrounding the craken would be hostile squids, and the fish like villagers would watch in the stands. Onces killed the Kracken would drob a single barnacle covered diamond staff.
This staff can be used as all of the tools, and never break. Plus once you get the staff you go into a room and can hit one of many statues each one giving a different power (flying, teleporting, shootning lightning bolts, etc.). But again you can only choose one.
This is just an idea to make minecraft a little more interesting, please give thoughts or added ideas!
I would want to add giant desert scorpians that are able to poison you, and then they could add a new plant as well like "Aloe Vera' which cures your poison. Or maybe just mix some cactus and other misc ingredient to make an antidote.
Oh and by giant, i dont really mean giant, maybe spider size with a stinger. Think radscorps from fallout.
Edit: I also really like the sharks idea. Maybe only have them spawn on normal and above difficulty? Theyd be like the creepers of the sea.
id say when you beat the enderdragon and you get its egg, you hatch it and you have a baby enderdragon which will grow with time, when it grows you can ride it.
i think deer, elk, moose. You could collect their antlers to make bone weapons or something. oh and the hide could be used for like rugs on the floor of houses(you know like how you put paintings on walls). epic
Rock golem it is made of stone(not cobblestone) and the head has to be obsidian and it throws rocks that cause 1/2 heart damage per hit it will attack any hostile mob
I'm in the more passive animals camp. I'd love to see even tiny animals like birds, bugs and, fish
Birds
Birds would fly around eating the passive bugs and you'd occasionally find their nests in trees. knocking a nest out of a tree by chopping the tree down, or just shearing the leaf block it rests on would have a random chance of dropping an egg. (those nests could also be used to make farming chickens a bit more realistic rather than having them just crap eggs randomly as they walk.) Birds would be randomly colored in the usual bird shades; white, brown, black, grey, ect, with he occasional blue, yellow, or red bird being a rare sight, but not all that significant (They're really here more for atmosphere, anyway).
Bugs
The bugs would be just your run of the mill insects, Bees, Butterflies, Fireflies (Known as Lightning Bugs here where i live. . . for some odd reason), and Dragonflies. I'd imagine that all bugs could be captured and put on display in your house in a block resembling a squared jar with the bug's sprite resting on a small plant within.
- Bees
Bees would build nests in trees that, if harvested, produce honey, an item used for food or possibly as an ingredient when potion making comes out. Harming the hive in anyway would anger the bees who would form a new mob in the spot the hive is destroyed in called the Bee Swarm. The bee swarm will chase a player dealing a lot of small attacks for half a heart of damage very rapidly until the player either dies, jump in a body of water fully submerging themselves, or become otherwise unreachable. For example you could run into a house or a building and close the door behind you preventing the bees from approaching, and so they'd despawn. Bees would move about as fast as a player can walk and will sometimes even sprint, but occasionally make a jerky swoop allowing you to get a bit of distance.
A beehive near a garden has the bonus effect of pollinating any plants nearby. If a bee hive spawns in a tree near a garden plants within a 20 block radius will grow at twice their normal rate and drop slightly more food items (generally 1-2) when harvested.
Beehives would spawn randomly in trees once every 4-5 days until a standard ammount of them is present (whatever the normal ammount is for other animals). when a hive is present individual Bees will spawn and fly around, landing on crops indicating that they are within the hives's pollination radius.
-Butterflies
Butterflies would spawn sporadically near tall grasses and birds nests acting as a food for the birds. They would flit around until nightfall when they'd hide in tall grasses. Butterflies will occasionally land on an individual plant or a flower and pollinate it causing that single plant to double it's growth rate for that day. If a flower becomes pollinated it may spawn another flower of its type within a 3 square radius of itself.
-Fireflies
Fireflies would spawn only at night as small black blocks that occasionally flare into glowing yellow blocks before slowly fading back to black. They'd spawn anywhere but deserts and would spawn twice as often around water sources. They even be captured and placed in your homes however their jar would have several small bugs inside that flicker on and off at random, and would act as a weak light source 1/2 to 1/4 as strong as glowstone. These would also make really interesting ingredients for potions. An idea for a potion using fireflies would be one that causes your body to glow like a torch for a small duration.
-Dragonflies
Dragonflies would spawn near bodies of water and work a lot like butterflies, the main difference being that they pollinate Sugar Cane and, when they're implemented, Lilypads. Dragonflies could also be captured and used for a potion allowing either faster swim speed or underwater breathing.
Fish
Fish would be about like birds, really just there for looks and to add a bit of life to the world. They'd come in several styles depending on where they spawn. In the ocean they'd look like your typical brightly colored reef fish, lakes and rivers would have larger silver and green streamlined fish, and small ponds would have something akin to little goldfish. As stated before it'd be nice if you could either place the fish in your house as a fish tank, or if you could build one and place the fish to live happily in the water. I'm more in favor of building a large custom tank to then use as a fish farm. You'd capture fish by fishing, though the animal sprites in the wild wouldn't be the animals you're actually catching with the rod (mostly just to keep from having to rewrite how that works!), instead they'd represent the fish you'd catch in that area!
So what do you guys think? Anyone have anything to add or subtract from this idea? I figure if we hammer it out and refine it we may be able to pitch it as an actual standalone suggestion to 4J!
I would like to see some monkey mischief in the jungle where they can be be given banana's but just like wolves if you **** them off they come at you in numbers and throw dirtballs and steal stuff from you. The shark idea is pretty cool too.

Lets say it would have 10% chance to spawn in ocean biomes
eagle eggs?! Im not listenin' to you, you crazy
Me?....... Lesbian?......pony please

It would be quite a laugh watching them all jump into my cobblestone generator.
