Plus this update almost feels like it was rushed. 200+mb for everything we got just doesn't seem right.
The update file is the entire update file, which includes every other TU previous to this one. It doesn't mean there was 200+mb of "new" stuff. The new updates overwrite the previous ones.
...
Just my opinion, but I think you complain too much. You just got a handful of new features at absolutely no extra cost to you and your major gripe is that you had to wait longer than you expected to?! Or that it didn't contain all the things you had hoped for? It makes you sound ungrateful, or at the very least just a bit entitled.
Lots of nice new flashy features, except that the game frequently causes the console to freeze up and force me to use a manual restart. So far, I can only load the world's I've already made, attempting to do anything else, causes the freeze and crash situation.
As it goes for 360 edition, I wish this update could be reversed to the previous version, and major bugs like this worked out before it's released again.

Same thing has happened to me when starting a new world, the "Creative disables achievements" message comes up and when its closed it seems it also disables MInecraft lol
Wanna know the last time I heard the old music ingame? I was playing the Tutorial map and then the music started to play, hitting me in the gut with nostalgia.
Just plain too much complaining going on around here, IMO. 4J must feel condemned if they do and condemned if they don't, either way.
Scout out what to expect from an update from the change logs and bug reports ahead of time. Then, if you don't like it or you don't want to tolerate the bugs it has, don't download it and wait for the next one to come out. It's not like it costs you anything.
That would be nice, if the change log weren't only accessible AFTER installing. Otherwise I get knocked out of Live because I don't have the latest update. I may not play minecraft online, but I enjoy chatting while I play, and sometimes sharing my creations to Facebook.
i do see however that one of my past suggestions got used. stained glass.

You suggested that they add something from the pc version, which is sort of the point of the updates in the first place?

You do not have to install the update in order to view the change logs here on these forums:
I'm having some serious issues with this update. I hadn't played in a while, so I had to log into my Live account and update, and then I noticed that the welcome screen looked different (like it had been downgraded to an older version or something).
Then, when I chose my world, I spawned in the middle of the ocean on a completely different map and with no items in my inventory. I couldn't turn around, either, which is so far the only thing I've been able to fix.
I saw one person on the Xbox updates Facebook page suggesting that I should clear my storage cache, but that didn't do anything. I tried again with Live turned off, but it still didn't work. I really don't know what to do, and apparently other people have had this problem as well. I REALLY don't want to have to start from the beginning again (and on a mostly island map, too >.>).
Thoughts? Has anyone else here had the same problems?
Oh, okay. Yeah, I'm glad the world wasn't completely deleted, although the way it is now it might as well have been. Even the basic controls like surfacing and jumping are jacked up and switched around. If it's been reported, I can only hope that means there'll be a patch sometime in the next 20 years...
Thanks for responding! Like I said, I haven't heard back from anyone on other forums about this :\

This is becoming a problem reported with increasing frequency. However, once you select and open your world with an update that hasn't downloaded correctly, that world is basically unrecoverable. The ONLY thing you could have done is to have backed it up to a USB (using the main Xbox dashboard) before you attempted to open it. That way, you'd have a clean copy to revert back to once you got the update to download correctly. Another bit of 20/20 hindsight for everyone - Always check that the updates have downloaded correctly by creating a new world with them rather than testing it out using your best worlds. 4J really need to install a block so that worlds simply cannot be opened with an earlier version (which is what the games reverts to when an update doesn't install correctly).
Why it is occurring more and more frequently - I think that it does have to do with the complexity of the updates (i.e. size of the update file) combined with Microsoft's overloaded Live update system. I'm getting "kicked" more and more frequently while updates are downloading. They retry themselves for a time, but eventually do time out and there is really no warning at that point that the update hasn't yet downloaded completely. Combine that with the fact that Minecraft deletes the previous update and the new update contains all the changes since TU9 (to keep everything in one update file)... Minecraft, when faced with an incomplete update download, doesn't revert to the version just before the update, but instead reverts all the way back to TU9... which means that any world opened before the update is complete gets corrupted by being opened in an earlier version than it was last saved in. As I said above, 4J really needs to prevent these files from being opened (since it's unlikely that the download congestion on Live is going away anytime soon).
As for the issue with the head turning and such - this is due to a long-known bug that arbitrarily changes the sensitivity settings (and other control settings) when an update hits. The solution is to go to "Help & Options" - "Settings" - "Reset to Defaults." This will reset everything (so it doesn't matter what specific control settings have been changed). If you use some custom settings, just go back in after doing the reset to defaults and set those again yourself. 4J said a long, long, long time ago (in 2012) that they couldn't fix this particular bug... something about analog controllers... I don't understand why since other games don't seem to forget their controller settings... but that is 4J said at that time. Since they haven't obviously fixed it, I'm assuming it still holds true.
I see. So, you think the world I opened won't work now anyway? I've avoided saving it after trying (just quitting without a save) in case it did something like that, but if it's just going to be stuck that way, that really sucks. Like you said, it's really strange they wouldn't prevent that kind of crap from happening, considering that this game is all about construction, and chances are people want to save their work for a reason.
Just downloaded a new update, hoping it would mend the previous issue, but nothing seems to have changed. I also haven't really seen anything about what this latest update was (and it didn't tell me about any new features), so... Oh well.
Yea I know this thread was started about TU25-26 but now that TU27 is out, I am less and less impressed with the advancement of MC360. I mean seriously, TU27 was a total letdown. I heard it had two new woods so I was a bit excited about it. Yea, it does. Sorta, almost, but not really. There are no saplings for the trees. There are no leaves for the trees. There are no biomes for the trees to spawn in. The only way to get the wood (not even the saplings or leaves) is creative which I generally don't play in. So, for all practical purposes, TU27 was completely pointless for me.
It, however does clue us in that we will likely get at least two new biomes to support the two new trees (Savanna and Roofed Forest). So, that is at least something to look forward to. Eventually.

I have a theory we won't have to wait long for the next update, because of this update's size.
I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.

That's always a tough spot to be in. The best you can do since the bug is already reported is to either start a new world or
go back to the old one. That is a real shame, but don't feel alone. You updated with good timing. Had you updated sooner
you might of lost your favorite world like so many did. Thank goodness they fixed that bug so fast.

Your welcome! And welcome to the forums along the way. Unfortunately, even if they do patch it, the residual effects will
still be in your world from the sounds of it. If you really don't want to delete it I suggest saving it until another update but
don't cross your fingers. This sounds like a system specific bug that occured due to so much change.
I suggest you create a new world and go from there, I know it sticks trust me. That's about the best I have to offer.
Although you may find the new features fun. Depending on when you last played.

Actually if you haven't saved at all there may be a chance of recovering it. So perhaps you might have some luck.
