OK, these mash up packs are great , ok just the skyrim pack , mass effect can crawl into a hole and wither away, but we need more texture packs that are more like skyrim mash-up pack , the textures in the skyrim pack are awesome to look at and build with in creative but thats that , i would love to play survival with a texture pack like natural/skyrim etc but the blocks are all obviously mashed-up ,for eg pink wool is a wooden crate looking block ,so on and so on ,soooo anyway my main point more texture packs like Sphax BD/dokucraft -or just plain old medieval textures and less MASS EFFECT FAILS ,this kinda just looks like my opinion ,ok yeah true but im sure others would agree?

I do agree with you sort of, But did you know was released before it was supposed to be released then mass effect got taken off then put back up? I think thats why it sucked
I don't agree. I find the basic texture packs rather pointless; but the mash up packs are intriguing because the blocks are "mashed up" to represent some things they normally don't. It renews some of the challenge of survival by compelling one to adapt both mining and building to a different set of conventions... plus I really, really enjoy the different music. For me, the mere $3 difference in the price is well worth it.

makes survival more challenging? you mean stupid? its survival for a reason, i want wool to look like wool and for lapis to look atleast somewhat like lapis, mashup packs suck, creative is stupid, give us more like the natural pack

Nothing in Minecraft looks "natural." When you first learned the game, you learned that the diamond block had baby blue chips in it and the lapis block had darker blue, etc.... but neither of them look that way when being mined IRL (you can google for IRL images yourself to compare). Also, wool doesn't come off the sheep in purple or lime green or even really white; and it doesn't make a good construction material for buildings either... but Minecraft people use it extensively because it happens to be a solid color block that comes in the game in a variety of colors... but don't try to tell me that it actually looks like real wool.
It's only because you've played the default game that you now have a preconceived notion that "this" is the way certain blocks "should look." What makes a mash-up more challenging for survival is that it demands the player let go of those preconceived ideas based on the default textures and adapt their thinking to how the blocks look in the mashup. In survival it causes you to want to acquire/mine different blocks in greater numbers than you perhaps normally would in order to build different structures than you normally would. Finding enough diamond ore to make a couple of diamond tools and some armor is nothing... but finding enough silk touched diamond ore in a Mass Effect world to construct a Reaper is a bigger challenge in survival mode... but there are about 9,000 diamonds in the average Xbox Minecraft map, so it should be doable with enough effort.
NB: Note, I'm not talking about creative mode here... because in creative mode the blocks don't actually represent anything at all other than color combinations of pixels. Each can be had every bit as easily as another and can be put together in any way the builder thinks looks nice. That is no harder or easier to do with a mashup pack than without one.

Really we just need more texture packs that look like Natural. There does seem to be a pretty substantial difference in look to Natural over the others.
yes, in fact, there are more texture packs than there are mash up packs, very good, you can count.
you should really email 4j since apparently its there job to make you happy, and no one else.
your just conceded enough to believe this, as evident by the bold text.
why should a company restrict its own creativity when it comes to their DLC? if all they did was work on making you happy then its obvious we would have one copy and paste TP after another, with no real variations there in. the natural pack is perfect for those who want realism, and the ME pack is great for anyone who's wanted to do a space/sci fi world, skyrim is great for fantasy lovers. im sure they will come out with tons of TP's and MU's that fit a variety of styles, and i cant wait... cant wait to hear your ridiculous and pointless rants about them to, it will make me love the packs even more.
