Hi, I want to start developing server plugins for Minecraft Bedrock Edition, but I can't find server software. The closest thing I can find is PocketMine, but I doubt the official servers are using it. Has Microsoft said anything about how to start a third party server and how to develop for it?
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Microsoft don't want anyone adding things to it, unless they are able to control it and make lots of money from it. The only official servers are huge corporations, sanctioned by Microsoft (and generating money for them).
"Potential partners must be registered business entities to enter into a formal partnership agreement with Microsoft and Mojang. You will be asked to provide business and tax details in the Partner Program application form.
Partners should be able to provide a portfolio of high quality contentthey have previously created and shared with the Minecraft community. Content examples might include maps, Add-ons, Realms, skins, or hosted servers."
Man, if that's true this new version will never be able to replace the Java version. I was hoping Microsoft would release server software people could use to create servers, build them up, then apply to put them on the list. I really like a lot of things about the Bedrock version, like that it runs better and everyone can play together, but without community servers it will never take off with Java players.
