So I created a Wheat farm with a villager(brown robed/Fisherman) to plant and harvest the wheat, I moved him over to the farm fresh so he didn't have anything in inventory, then I dropped about 12 stacked of seeds which he gobbled up and proceeded to plant, there are no doors anywhere within over 100 blocks so no village zone to mess him up, he did fine with planting, but he's not harvesting anything, I am using the Minecart with hopper on rail system under the farm which is suppose to collect all the dropped items and since he's inventory should be full in theory he should continue to pick up seeds and leave the wheat on the ground. But he doesn't harvest, I left the farm loading all night and the wheat is completely ready for harvest but he just wanders around. Has Mojang not fully implemented the auto farm feature of the brown robes? Any other ideas? Thanks
That is quite buggy in Win 10, I tried making one as well, a while back - also didn't work for me. Maybe it's something that'll be 'fixed', or it may just be that it's not supposed to work that way in Win 10. It is a different game version after all.

Well, after watching some more youtube videos I created a house with a second villager inside that is trapped and has hopper/chest system n front of him, the farmer did go inside and threw bread at the villager and then went out and harvested a few plots and replanted, so must be an inventory bug. So I decided to move on for a bit and come back to this later as I could always use a stockpile of bread for my villager breeder system, but wouldn't you know it, Thunderstorm hit the farmer and I got a witch out of the deal, After cursing up a storm for the loss, I killed the witch and started up research on lightning.
Any one know the parameters of roofs above villagers to prevent them from getting hit by lightning? Mine had a roof directly over his head, so I'm thinking maybe 3 more blocks higher and in a 5x5 overlap, is that enough? Do I need higher? does it need to be bigger? or is smaller good?
I think the roof needs to be more than one block thick for the lightning strikes to not hit the villager., not sure it matters about height, it's thickness. The method you described with the trapped villager and the other throwing food would work best for carrots & potato farms.

Yeah, I am planning on a carrot farm and a potato farm using that method, but still playing around with this one to see if I can fix it, once fixed I'll probably build a fourth farm for the bread, I'll build my roof for the villager and see what happens, I'll make it 2 blocks thick for testing
