Good seed here; 89699835. Village( with blacksmith) and 2 temples near spawn. 4 more temples and at least one more village less than a half-days travel away. Zombie spawn near surface near 2 of the temples to the east of spawn. More than a chest full of books from temples. I reloaded the seed several times and the books were there but of different levels. If the books in the nearest temples are low level (sharpness 1, featherfalling 1....) reload until you get better books( Sharpness 4, blast protection 4.....). Much gold and diamonds from Temples.
so on the original post... i'm playing 1.0 minecraft and it works still... but i can't find the portal... the eyes keep telling me its in a random hallway? anyone know where the portal is? also better entrence to the stronghold, dig stright under the desert well... it drops down into a easier entrence...
Found a seed that has a really good assortment of biomes, mesa, taiga/mountains, plains, swamp, jungle, and forest/mushroom-forest, and at least 6 villages that I've found. The seed is; okay
-1804478546 two villages near start point first has a stronghold at the bottom of the well, both have blacksmiths, due west of the second across the water is a snow biome.
Been playing around with seeds and finding a few neat ones, but had to share this one- Atlas Rising (or, -2122368325. Was using a few No Man's Sky related terms in the seeds)
I'd sort of call it the Cradle of Civilization seed. Primarily desert starting area, with some forest and plains around, a big river system and with a bunch of villages and towns. I counted five villages - a few with blacksmiths - and three temples in a pretty quick fly around on creative. Started a survival and was able to loot a ton of good stuff quickly on my way to the village I wanted to settle in, including two sets of diamond horse armor and three enchanting books. If I weren't too lazy I'd try to do a map of the area, but if you head south from the start point, you'll soon come to a village where the biome transitions (you'll probably see a temple to the right on the way). That village does require a quick patch of an open pit in town, but also has a decent starting cave entrance nearby. Head west from there and you'll quickly find another village. Keep going and you'll get back to desert and find a temple soon. Turn north and you'll soon find a town, and I think there was another close to that one too. Starting area appears to be a big peninsula, mostly surrounded by ocean that I could see, so hard to get too lost. Would be a good ancient world RP seed.
ETA: I'll throw in the seed pakacat as that one spawns near a small but interesting village (mountainside farms), and building a nether portal just by it spawned me right on top of a fortress. Lots of emeralds by digging down into the cave on the village mountainside. However, one of the rivers in town needs blocking or villagers will end up pooled in a cave below town. Also, seed Boudicca is good if you want a village over a stronghold near the start point.
