Since the update, I have 5 enormous buildings full of intricate redstone circuits cut in half. I only play survival mode. I lost tons of railroads, with at least 4, 3-way junctions, and scores of chests full of loot. All because a massive chunk of my world decided to reset.
Thank you Mojang for having zero technical support when half of my world randomly reset itself.
All the time I wasted on this game was for nothing, and now, it's less than nothing because it has been halved. Furthermore, why would I bother playing any further knowing it could happen again. I am super angry and words can no longer express how I feel about this game, and any other games you will try to pawn in the future. Furthermore, I will never again by your $25 dollar foam toys for my children, and I will become the advocate of bad word of mouth for all your products.

...well. Overreaction of 2015, here.
I'm pretty sure Mojang didn't mean to cut your world in half.
Just saying.

If possible could you upload the world to mediafire and send it to me via PMs.
Also if you have cloud saving enabled it may be possible to get an older version.
There are other ways of backing up saves.
We have an option to Copy saves and the PS4 System software allows you access to your saves in order to copy them to USB.

Not saying what happened to you doesn't suck but I think you are over reacting just a little bit... Sure I understand you put alot of time and/or effort into your worlds but when I upgraded to PS4 from PS3 i totally forgot to save my world to take it to the new system, then i went and sold my PS4 to my younger cousin and wiped my old PS3 in doing that i lost my old world.
Sure i was annoyed and that was totally my fault but my point being I just dusted myself off as it were and started a new world. Everything can be re-created, think of it as a repair project like if your world was destroyed by a natural disaster or something.
I guess my plus too is I don't do fancy redstone and farms and spawners I just play to have fun... which is what video games are for, at least when i play them.
Call me old fashion if you want but I won't give up a great game over a set back or a game glitch... Just saying

Just a little bit? He took personal offense to a bug in one single update of the console version of Minecraft, and so posted a rage thread and is now becoming the "advocate of bad word of mouth for all your products". All of them. If Mojang produces a new flavor of soda, this man will rage about how nobody should buy it because an update to the PS4 edition contained a bug that only happened to him where a world was cut in half.

Oh i never said i agreed with any of his rant lol, everyone is entitled to there opinion, and overall the fan base of Minecraft as a whole won't go off the word of 1 guy that had a bad experience. I have heard stories of people saying bad things about restaraunts or fast food places I still eat at them, I have heard foods and drinks i love have bad chemicals in them I still eat and drink everyone of them, I know how certain clothes or boots are made I still wear them, its all in your head if YOU like the game and YOU play it regularly and YOU will back the devlopers 100% until the end of time then a rant by one lone person isn't going to change your mind.
How super frustrating. Tell me about it. I remember when jungles came to, had a beautiful city (perception, mind you,) that when one day after the update arrived, boom, a tiny little skinny patch of a weird green colored biome was magically replacing a third, or so, of it, right through the middle.. Now what was I supposed to do there..?? Lol is what I did (at least I didn't have to go far for jungle wood and ocelots!)
I think the best way to keep on keeping on is to not look at it as "For Nothing", but rather look at it as an experience gained and a way to be able to do better in the next seed generated. You can take all the wisdom you gained from that world and use it with new and better ways of understanding to build and contrapt in the next. (Just trying to keep you on the Minecraft path with a positive way of looking at it.)
Oh, and that was on the 360. When PS4 released I bought that, had to wait for what seemed to be waay too long, and started all over, yet again. Survivalist here, too, mind you..
I think I heard somewhere before that you can actually send your data on a usb/email to 4J or Mojang and they can fix your world if it gets messed up. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not? Only problem is if it says it is corrupted in the save folder on the console you cant copy it so your screwed
Anyways always check your world before you save, back up everyday and don't let strangers build without permission.

You don't need to know all the answers, you just need to know where to find them.
