Me and a friend are planning to do a Minecraft Let's-Play series on YouTube, but we want to do something unique and totally different from most other Let's-Play series. Does anyone have any cool ideas on what we can do to make things interesting and to add a creative twist to whatever we do? Also, please note that at the moment we have 0 subscribers, but a reliable 2-player server that we own and can use for whatever we do.
Thanks!

PS - I'm not posting this in the Let's-Play section of the forum because we haven't posted any videos yet, so there's nothing else that interesting to write :tongue.gif:
When you want ideas, do you mean this is going to be a story, or maps you play through. If it's the first, I might be interested. But I'll ask this, how much input would you need from me. Would it be just the starting idea, or coming up with more in depth points to a story?

At the moment, seeing as we're starting at rock-bottom, there is no story, but we think it would be a very cool idea if, in the future, we started getting somewhere with it. We're just looking for something extra that's unique that we can use to mix things up. It doesn't necessarily have to be a map thing, either.

Hmm....Well, other than a creative story, the only thing that can set you apart is how the people in the videos act. There's plenty of comedy in Let's Plays, but it also matters how well everything flows together. But I'm not really sure how good of advice I can give on how to make a video appeal to the public, I think, unfortunately, there's just a lot of luck involved in that. The only thing I can think of is to maybe play a few adventure maps to get started, then go into a more in-depth Let's Play. But if you do want some kind of creative story at some time, just let me know and I'd be glad to think something up.
Unfortunately, so many Let's Plays are out there. Most are bad, few are good, and most of the baddies killed off most of the good ideas.
My idea would to be to look for a way to add a twist or something unique to it.
A good example of something small, but amazing from the YogsCast, is when Simon says "What's a very nice house you have there" in that awesome voice.
Just try to find something small to get you apart from the rest of the crowd.
That's exactly what we want to do, to add something small but unique that could potentially set our series apart from everyone else's. It doesn't even have to be anything grand and intricate, either, just a creative twist :smile.gif:

Sounds cool, I'll be sure to message you if we need help :wink.gif:
