Hello, since 1 month approximately, I have ultra low FPS on minecraft. I don't know why and I don't know what happened.
Before the problem, my game ran with 330 FPS (settings : far and fancy). (Yes, I'm French)
Now : I can't play because of the slow of Minecraft. Average : 12 FPS with the sames settings. This screenshot is taken on a new save 15 minutes ago
I tried to uninstall Minecraft, uninstall Java. Nothing works. I know there are mods which increase FPS but and I want to fix the problem without mod.
My PC :
AMD Athlon II x4 645 (3.1GHz)
8 Go DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 64 bits
Nvidia GTX 560ti
NB : I play BF3 with 50 FPS in High. >>>>>> BF3 high 50 FPS vs Minecraft 12 FPS >>>>>>> Problem ?
yeah i had the same problem with my gtx 560 i had to get new drivers which include a hotfix for this problem another way around it is to use The optifine mod
I'll try to find new drivers. Thank you for your answer !
EDIT : My drivers are up to date ><. I don't know what's wrong and I won't install Optifine before solve the problem. I saw on other posts in the forum that we aren't alone to have this problem.
i have this problem too. i can run skyrim on high settings, but i run minecraft, using tiny and fast graphics, with 10 fps. ive tried all of the things you have, too. i don't know if you know about memory leaks (i don't know a lot about computers, sorry if i sound like an idiot), but that's could be the problem. some youtubers have mentioned them in videos, and i dont know anything about them. if you know anything about them, let me know
330 FPS was mostly my high "score" on minecraft. But when I played normaly minecraft, I had a 200 FPS (average) with fancy graphics. I'll try to uninstall/reinstall the control center.
I don't find the control center in my list of program (or I don't know the real translation of "control center" in french, which is supposed to be "centre de contrôle") . So I can't remove it, and it's a little bit problematic.
I no longer have the installation CD. Is this one not essential to reinstall the Nvidia control center ?
I found a little solution : I changed supply parameters from my computer (energy save >>> high performance). It increased my FPS from 50. But 60 FPS is not enough (in stead of 200 FPS) with a quad core and a overcloked powerful graphic card.
Okay, the Nvidia program probably isn't called "control panel" but if you look on the website I'm sure they will have the software for the 500 series. It's usually with the drivers. I don't know much about your problem but the only thing I would suggest is deleting all game files apart from those which hold your saves and re-installing along with the grpahics driver and software.
I know you've re-installed already but have you re-installed ALL of the graphics driver/software stuff yet?
Already i see you have default ram allocated i have 2 gig's allocated i got a Phenom II x4 955 (3,2 Ghz) and a GTS 450 with my server running and stuff i got 300~ FPS i use java JDK7

Allocating more RAM can help, especially if you are using a texture pack.
I saw somewhere else on this forum somebody had the same problem, it turns out that Skyrim runs better when you change a setting for 3D mode (I don't know what it is, but you could google it), but changing that setting messes up Minecraft.
Come to think of it, people have been complaining about screenshots and new updates being slower than the last one, I thought that was weird since they have been going faster for me (on my really lame desktop), all of this complaining started a little while after Skyrim came out...

Berwout, how do you do to allocate more memory to Minecraft ? I've tried to do this : but in game, there is no changement.
What is Java JDK7 ?
I've reset all the setting in the Nvidia control panel. No changement .... again.
I don't know if I can uninstall video drivers. I no longer have the installation CD so, I will can't reinstall them.
That's the wrong method for allocating more memory because now, every time java runs, regardless for what it is for, 2GB of RAM will suddenly disappear. Use the .bat file method there are a few guides but if you really can't find one I'll explain it.
Also do not install CD drivers a software. Get the latest version from the manufacturer's website.
What the hell? that should be able to run minecraft with alot of FPS
your comment is based off your lack of knowledge for computers.
If you have a vanilla version of minecraft i dunno why its lagging, if you
have mods then there's your reason. Otherwise i dont know sorry.
I think he's joking, otherwise he has 0 knowledge of computers...
I never said it was going to lag in minecraft did I learn to read
Lack of knowledge I would love you too read right in the future and think before you post.
He never said that you said it was going to lag, he was referring to the OP's problem, not your post. For someone accusing people of not reading posts, you're not doing too well yourself...
@OP:
Hmmmm, The "where your minecraft bit is" should point to Minecraft.exe, In Win7 I *think* its in:
c:\users\"YOU"\appdata(hidden)\roaming\.minecraft\Minecraft.exe
There are proper guides out there, try them -----> Here <----- You may also search "how to allocate more RAM to minecraft"
Have you been able to re-install the drivers yet? If you're having trouble finding them I may be able to help you, but the language barrier may be an issue if you need the program(s) 'en Francais'.
Tick is the time to update the world. Water flow, Lava flow, Mobs roaming, redstone updates, gravel falling, TNT exploding, plants growing, mob spawning, loose blocks floating...
By clicking on the pie chart wedge you can actually drill down and see which part of tick (not sure how detailed it gets) is taking the most time.
Integrated Intel chipsets are a bit hit or miss though, and not recommended if avoidable.
The HD 3000 on my Dad's laptop runs it OK, with occasional lag. My Core 2 Duo integrated on my laptop is a joke though, such a brutal contrast to my desktop's 6970.
I've got a 64 bits java on my computer and I've got a 64 bit version of windows seven.
My friend has a extremely similar configuration to mine (intel core i5 2500k instead of my athlon) and he run at 350fps on average without increasing allocated memory to minecraft !
I don't use mod.
crazyjoe thank you for your guide ... but
What is the expression in english to say that I will shot myself with a gun ? *joke*
Last question : Do you think it's risky to uninstall all my graphics drivers and my control panel ?

But it doesn't work. I don't know what can I do, I have the 64 bits version.
The error message :
Error : Could not create the Java virtual Machine
Error : A fatal exception has occured. The program will exit.
