I am an active minecraft player on mac and I have loads of expirence with Macs. Where you can find the Minecraft folder on your mac is the following:
1. Open finder
2. Go to your user: i.e. home
3. Go into Library
4. Now in the search of Finder search "Minecraft"
5. You will probally see the app. Ignore these sights.
6. Right under the search bar there should be a toolbar that says the following:
Search This Mac "Library" I Contents File Name
7. On this toolbar select "Library"
8. You will now see a folder titled "minecraft"
9. Sometimes a glitch occurs where a pop-up comes up saying "minecraft could not be displayed because the origional contects could not be found" just ignore this and re-launch the folder.
10. All done
Now there are some simpler ways of searching but this is the way i always do it. Now you can always create a shortcut to this folder that I can give also how to do. Its a little strange but simple as heck if you know how to do it. Hopefully this helps with everything...
