Does anyone have any statistics on bandwidth usage per user on average? I'd like to run a server from my house, but I don't want to be limited by the available bandwidth. Since that connection would also be my general home internet connection, I don't want to have my server bandwidth interfere with my Wii bandwidth...or the XBox or the DVR receiver, etc.
Basically you need 0.33Mb/s up and 0.33MB/s down per player. So if you have 10Mb/s download and 1Mb/s upload speeds, you can reliably host 3 players. The bottleneck is the 1Mb/s upload speeds. I guess loading all those blocks in a 10 chunk range around the player takes up a lot of bandwidth. :-)
