Hi i bought minecraft on ebay and my account has been migrated and i can't login in from the site please help my account username: MikeLitterous
i assume that the seller may have pulled a dodgy on you, when an account is migrated the account is really controlled by who ever knows the email used for the account. I would ask the seller for the email address but even then you will probably encounter the same issue as myself and the people above with not being able to change the account password.... ERROR
The file public/resetpassword does not exist
well i just tried to change my password again and it looks as if they have finally addressed the
The file public/resetpassword does not exist" Error so that it says success however it still didnt change my password when i log into my client im woundering if theres even a way to change your actual minecraft account password with a migrated account because it only seems to change your password you use to log into account.mojang with............anyone else....
Using the support email does in fact end up getting your account fixed. It is how I reported my issue and was contacted. Soon after my account was promptly fixed. It just takes a while. I had waited about 2 months before I had recieved an email requesting information to help aid in the repair of the account. It will get done, just slowly. Like it was stated before, the amount of emails that come in greatly slows down response time.
I had been in this topic when it was created, and my account was indeed fixed. All it took was patience.
I'm glad you were able to get help. For anyone else, please do NOT email us directly. We're getting tens of thousands of emails, and people need to go to help.mojang.com first. There, you can try to find a solution to your issue (I write those articles based on the emails we get), and if it doesn't help you, there's a link at the end of most articles to contact us.
Help.Mojang.com is our first level customer support. Emails are second level support. If people email directly without checking the site, it slows down our response times A LOT.
I have the exact problem you had in your original post, Marc. However when I attempted to get my PW reset from Mojang I never received an email to get it reset. Is this something that normally takes a long time? I've been waiting 10 minutes at least. I couldn't help but notice that it will always say "Success! We have sent you instructions for resetting your password.", no matter what email I put in. Is it possible I mistyped my email when migrating or should I just wait longer for the email to come in?
Is it possible to change my minecraft's account email without migration?
What does migration really mean? And why once you account is migrated you can't access it anymore through minecraft.net?
For those who don't know me, I'm Marc, the new customer support guy at Mojang. For most support issues, I'm going to work with the author of the awesome stickied thread that's already up, but I wanted to take a moment to share some help information for those who have migrated their accounts, and are having trouble logging into Minecraft, because the same thing happened to my own account, and I'd like to tell people how to fix it.
Here's what I did, and how I fixed it:
I migrated my Minecraft account to a Mojang account by going to account.mojang.com
Afterwards, I tried to log into Minecraft.net with my username, and it made me use my email
I tried to log in with my email, but it said invalid username or password (I think I had selected two different passwords)
I used the forgot password tool on Minecraft.net, and it said "User not found"
I went back to the Mojang account site and used the forgot password tool there
I got an email from Mojang with a link to click, which let me reset my Mojang password, which also reset the Minecraft.net password
I went back to punching trees
This advice may be out there on another thread, but I also wanted to use this to get a bit of feedback.
Please do:
Provide detailed and organized information about issues migrating your Minecraft account to a Mojang account, if you've had that problem
Please don't:
Use the thread to ask questions about other issues (I'll be taking a look at the information to see if we have any patterns, but I might not be able to respond to everyone if there are questions)
If you do have questions about other things, please do take a look around the support forum, or check out help.mojang.com. Hopefully this post will be a good resource for anyone having migration issues.
i got the same problem as squirelly stubbs basically i cant do **** i cant log in even with every email i know, all reset password places are invalid or dont work, i can STILL log into my lient with the same password and user as b4 but otherwise theres a hacker using my account and screwing everything up so i need my password changed. my email is [email protected] if u want to help thx.
Sorry about that. We're currently getting an obscene amount of emails. Working on a long term fix
It would make more sense if you had more people on the support team, I mean you do get 300+ emails being answered by only 5 people, some of whom are part time.
dammit plz fix this i believe all the users out there have this problem, whats worse everyone knows my password so now its hacked but i cant access my account :\

You can log into Minecraft with your email and Mojang account password

Changing your email address is not a feature supported on Minecraft.net with a Minecraft account.
Migrating your account means changing it to a Mojang account. We are moving to a system of one login for all of our games.
None of this really helped my account.

I did something wrong?
