i youtubed the error with the virtual machine java error. I did the minecraft.bat thing, then i logged in but it said fatal error 5 write error, when i tried to force update it, it downloaded and started to extract the packages but after it was almost done it gave me the fatal error 5 again.
recently, this error has been popping up for java-based games. this happens when there isn't enough memory dedicated to java to function properly.
first of all, determine how much ram you have. this can be found easily by pressing start, right-clicking Computer, and then selecting properties. in this gui, it'll state your memory/ram. this number is always a variable of the original 8-bit systems. so if it says 4.00, it's actually 4,096.

divide the amount of total ram you have in half(so again, if it says 4.00, divide 4,096 by half). now, go to this thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/350344-allocating-more-memory-to-java-windows/, and using the number you just got, allocate that using those steps.
if problems persist, you may have too much running on your pc to allow the applet to launch.
Ive allocated half of my memory to it as they instructed but error is still happening
