My 9 year old has been standing next to me most of the day with her $ in her hand, as I have been trying to set up her account. We registered a name, and put her email address in. It said 'you'll get an email to verify the account'. It has not arrived, now 14 hours later. It's not in spam, and as I run the email server I can see that the minecraft email server has not even tried to contact us. Later in the day I tried resetting her password via the email process, and that worked - email received, password reset link works, but still won't let her login as it says her email address is not verified. Try to go to resend verification email but looks like that has time limits on it - what use is a resend verification function if it won't resend??? Eventually must have passed its time delay restriction and it appeared to let us resend the email verification request. But nothing. No email, no contact from the minecraft email server at all. I know we used the correct email address as it sent the password reset fine.
How do I actually get this account setup? Have not had this trouble before, and this is the family's fourth minecraft account. I have one very disappointed little girl wanting to know if she can play yet..... Help please!

Is there any official support? I thought this game was supposed to be 'releaasd' now? All I seem to read is community comments that the servers are stuffed, without any official support from anyone for people who are actually trying to buy the game.
Bumping this thread because I am having the exact same problem. I purchased the game as a Christmas gift for my little brother and we have been waiting all day for a confirmation email. We tried getting the email re-sent and it said that the email was already sent, so it will not send again. Does anyone know if there is a work-around for this? Very frustrating... I feel a bit cheated here.
Edit: Before anyone says anything, we made a new email address specifically for the minecraft account and, no, there is nothing in the spam folder. The email was simply not received.
Long story short, a lot of people buying Minecraft for Christmas all together has put a lot of strain on the http://minecraft.net servers. Wait at least 48 hours before getting it re-sent because adding more emails does not solve the problem.
So where did this info come from? I have received no responses to emails that I have sent at all. Where is your source for the inside info? :-)
I've now tried about 4 times over two weeks, and have had no response to any of the verify email requests. Yet bizarrely I can reset the username's password.
I have emailed them and have not had any response at all.
