Ok so this has been going on for about a month or two. I have an HP Pavilion g6 (like a g6) and it runs great. Nothing ever crashes or anything like that but it gets pretty hot when I play mc. Here are the specs:
Processor: Intel Core i3 M 370 2.40ghz
Ram: 6.00 (5.80 usable)
Operating system: 64 bit
And the mods I have running are: Single player commands, Toomanyitems, spawnergui, optifine.
graphics settings: i use a combo of fast and fancy. meaning everything is on fast graphics except for the grass. and I use normal fog.
The heat gets pretty unbarable after a while, especially after I've been using spc excessively for a while. Only the left side by where my hand sits gets hot, the rest of the computer is pretty ok (its a laptop btw)
So please if you have any ideas on what i can do to make it cool down then tell me. Idk if this is normal or if I should get this fixed.
The only thing you can really do is get a cooling pad for your laptop.
Minecraft is very resource intense and causes you so use your GPU and CPU a lot. Almost any computer will heat up because of it, and there's not much you can do to stop it, unless you were to somehow put a water cooled system on a laptop :wink.gif:
And I quoted the specs, whereas he just pulled info out of his ass.
The moral of the story: The above laptop(s) are not really meant for gaming.
I'm just saying that based on my experience of every computer/laptop that I've played minecraft on doesn't heat up to extreme temperatures until minecraft starts running. I get that you quoted specs, but I think experience speaks for itself.

So then my task manager telling me that minecraft is using 800MB of ram and 25% of my Core i7 CPU is just lying then..? :dry.gif: I think not.
you just completely contradicted what chocoblast said XD
A fraction of your computer's RAM and Minecraft is not the ONLY thing running on your computer, using up 25% of your (apparently very weak) CPU.
