I've been looking for a while and i was wondering how do i make it get to level 50 my highest is level 38 so if you know please comment on how to make it
does it have to be 2 high cause i made it like that but 3 high and im only getting level 38 and i made the doorway threw the floori did look at the wiki
I was looking for something to tell me how to get good enchants meself, and while me and a friend were experimenting, we got a lvl 41 enchant I believe. It was at least above 40, so 38 is definitely not the highest lvl enchant you can have. It might be because of the book shelves on the edges, since the enchantment table doesn't get information, or "glyphs" from book shelves behind blocks. I figured this out by reading on the wiki, here's a quote from the Trivia section: "A convenient way to block the effect of nearby bookshelves to obtain low-level enchantments is to place torches between the bookshelves and the enchantment table. Any other block will also work."
So I believe you might need the eight book shelves on the edges on top of some other book shelves, or maybe even under if that is possible.
All I had to do was build a set up like this and I think I was lvl 36 at the time you just keep placing the item to enchant and it will pop up. The wiki's table is totally correct lvl 30 gets you a 50 enchant pretty simple.
No I know what you're asking about. You say that even though you have the max enchant format, for some reason the stupid thing doesn't show the level 40+ enchantments? Well, what worked for me is that you shouldn't place torches or blocks between the bookshelves and the table. After I removed all torches, suddenly I get lots of level 40 enchantments.
level 50 enchantments are VERY VERY FRICKE RARE! if you have the bookshelves right then keep clicking for a few hours and you might get a crappy leve 50 enchantment if you dont click past it. That happened to my friend before
highest enchantment i've seen is 47... also, it doesn't take very long to get to lvl 50... only like.. 15-20 minutes.
All you do, is set up a grinder, let em drop so they get killed in 1 shot with fists, or stone swords... then you go to inventory, do something for like, 20 minutes, come back, and laggy as **** but kill em all and you got lvl 50+

I made this map! Please check it out! It's a really awesome map that took me over a year to make! :3
A probability mass distribution of enchantment levels (in the bottom slot on the table with 30 bookshelves nearby).

This means that even with max benefit from bookshelves you'll still only see level 50 enchants very rarely. There is no way that I know of outside of a hack or mod to guarantee a level 50 enchant. You just have to keep trying and be patient.

THANK YOU OH MY GOD THANK YOU! You give a really good tip. I was getting only 30ish, I knocked out the torch and got a 48 in 3 tries. THANK YOU AGAIN!
I Got A Level 50 Enchantment By Making A Room With No Door, No Torches, A Bookcase Floor And 3 Block high Bookcase Walls (I'm Not Sure If The Floor Helped Or Not), although it took a while.

plus bookshelves on the roof and floor, so that the room was 2 high, got me a 44.
BUT, there has to be no torches, because with torches in there, it got me as high as 10
