So I set up the server on my Mac running OS X Lion the server seems to start fine and I can connect to it and all is well until I enter the world! It like I'm spawning in the middle of the ocean I try to swin to land .... but there is NO land...only water . Here are my settings? What the heck Am I doing wrong?

My first guess is that you have a ******** seed and should try a new map. If the ocean floor is not generated normally, it might be something more complicated.
nothing wrong. Some places have big oceans. Oceans are big, after all.
Just explore more, or make a new map.
