So I just started playing 1.9 today. I got the 1.9 PR 4 and whenever I try to play it I notice my computer constantly wanting to over-work. The fans kick into overdrive and it sounds like my computer is about to explode! I've NEVER heard my computer freak out like this before and it only does it when trying to play the 1.9 update. I did get like 45 mins of play time with it without my computer freaking out, but after logging out and trying to play again like an hour later my computer started freaking out again like 30 seconds after joining my world and I had to quickly exit Minecraft completely in fear of my computer blowing up! Lol
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this as well or what might be going on here and if there might be something I could do to fix it. I just tried playing again and hit the F3 key and notice the memory usage rapidly shifting from about 8% up to 21% and resetting back to 8% again over and over.

Before anything else, give your computer a good dusting out with compressed air. Don't tilt the can, lest you spray liquid into the guts of the computer. Second, what are you running & your specs?
Are any other games working this way?
More information would be useful.

Life is not measured in the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
download open hardware monitor a use it it will tell you the temps of most of your pc parts in celcius if its anything above 70c maybe even 60c you have a serious issue
No. Like I said, I've NEVER heard it do this before.. EVER. It only does it when trying to play 1.9 PR 4. I'd like to figure this problem out cause I really wanna try 1.9! :-/

Yea, just bought it like a month or so ago. I know its not a top-of-line computer, but its been just fine so far. And like I've said, Its never done this before and never does otherwise... until I try playing the 1.9 PR 4. I can play 1.8.1 just fine... no crazy loud noises or anything. So its something to do with 1.9. :-/
Sounds to me like AMD cool&quiet is kicking in, and the CPU cooler is probably spinning up to 6k RPM. You can go into the bios and set the fans to silent mode, and they won't spin up as quick, however, your computer will run hotter.
Your only other option, is to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler.
My wife's computer does this with stock AMD cpu cooler, my aftermarket cpu cooler does not. 6k RPM, vs 750 RPM, kind of a big difference.
The reason is started with 1.9, is the same reason everyone is complaining of FPS problems as the versions go up. The more code changes/features added to minecraft, the more resources it takes to run.
