I tried to play a few seeds for 1.9 and I just can't. The lag doesn't stop and it continues to lag in the menu screen after I leave the game. My FPS doesn't go above 16 and fluctuates between 6 and 16. Fog view doesn't make a difference.
It allows me to move around 50 blocks before it freezes my screen for 15 seconds and lets me move again. The update is so performance intensive is that the Minecraft cursor fails to replace my regular cursor when i click or move it. So that means I can see my standard cursor appear on the screen and then the minecraft cursor loads. I can't even move without warping.
Upon creating/loading a map my CPU maxes at 100 percent and does not go down from max. Creating a new seed takes forever because the screen just stops at a Switching Level screen for like 10 or more seconds before it starts building terrain. When I leave a seed I can't enter a new game without restarting the launcher, because my current worlds read 0 MBs and none of my Worlds are clickable after I leave the game.
Mojang please release a lag fixed prerelease 2 so I can actually give them a proper evaluation.
or play the official version that is more optimized???
One reason it's a pre-release is because it isn't yet optimized enough for the general audience.
1.8 PR had FPS problems, 1.8 has FPS problems. I don't see how adding more features is going to make the game any less intensive, especially when villagers get real AI.

rewriting code creates bugs, Java is already full of bugs add the two together you get an guaranteed unoptimized product.
There is no allocating more memory to it. Anyways it runs fine now. Whoever made that patch is a genius and should twitter it to mojang so they can update the prerelease. Because that was a god awful lag that noone could bare.
I fixed the lag to evaluate what? More of the same awful terain from 1.8. But now there are taiga forests with no snow all over the place. Sigh... I don't know how much more of this cruddy terain I can take before I just quit minecraft altogether.

I don't think anybody here really cares if you quit Minecraft. You've already payed for it, so Notch won't care. You're just complaining on the forums, so we won't care. Have fun with it!

Complaining relieves tension. It's a very frustrating thing to see the very minecraft you loved slowly ruined with broken mechanics and questionable game pathing. After so many swamps I'm absolutely sick of seeing swamps. I'm not going to cross a ****ing ocean to see more swamps and plains and ugly taiga forest that are supposed to be covered in snow.
I had no problem on my 4GB, 2GHz Core i3 with a 6870 Radeon.
an HP computer? :ohmy.gif: cause i have idr how many gigs XD i forget, but an AMD phenom and the same graphics card

There appear to be 2 different versions of the patch by 2 different people. However I believe both use the same method.
It doesn't work for everyone. At least it hasn't for me.
EDIT: Actually, I tried the bn file from the link you gave and it worked. The other fix didn't for whatever reason. Thanks.

That lag fix worked for me for my client side lag. Thanks for posting the link.

Wow, the new terrain features were the HIGHLIGHT of these updates, at least for me.
I'm genuinely sorry that you don't like them.
As for FPS, six to sixteen is normal on SSP, IMO.

And stop whining. Nobody likes whiners.

Nobody likes condescending useless posts either. This subforum exists for the discussion of 1.9's features AND issues.
