Well, I've been working on a new texture pack, which is based on the default 16x16. It's coming along nicely, and one thing I wanted to change was the rain, it looks like it's falling too slow in the default textures, so I changed it.
I also wanted to change the colour of the water too. But after doing that, Minecraft crashed... so I undid the water change.
After fixing that, I went to one of my worlds to test out the rain. So I enabled weather, then typed in the command for rain (Single Player Commands mod), and Minecraft crashed again...
Why does Mc crash when I change the rain and water colour?
Edit: just to clear things up, it isn't because of my comupter shitting itself, My computer isn't that bad. And if it was, I'd build a new one.
Other texture packs run like clockwork and don't cause any issues.
how about you make a new texture pack with only the rain and water changed to see if that's what happened, or, if your computer is too slow, maybe it cannot render what you put in... I'm not sure, can you please upload the texture pack so we can see?

The cake is NOT a lie!
By the way, it's a black screen crash. I don't see the "Minecraft has crashed" crash dump screen either.
I even made the rain change on my other computer, and it didn't crash. But I haven't been able to access that computer since then.
