I got minecraft a few days ago and my right click has been .... tempermental from day 1.
It works perfectly fine when i use it out-of-game, but doesn't in-game.
It only sometimes allows me to use things like chests and rarely lets me place blocks, which is especially annoying when i want to make pickaxes and swords by placing and using a crafting table. However it works 99% of the time when placing torches.
It seems to be worse in larger worlds, as i now favor a tiny world where it works about 60% of the time, whereas in all my larger worlds it works about 10% of the time.
Until i've just sort of adapted, trying to avoid building houses (having houses in cliff faces) and just mining for the most part (although i get frustrated when placing a crafting table to make my pickaxes), but now that i really wanna build i need your help. Any posts would be helpful
Your playing SSP? (Survival Single Player) What kind of mouse do you have, how does it input into your computer? What are your settings? It could possibly be lagg from far distance rendering, try turning it down lower.

No mods loaded, yes- playing Survival single player (Beta) though same thing with multiplayer, render distance short, using laptop- so mouse pad with left, right and scroll buttons underneath
I'm going to try a 'clean install' and will post if doesn't help
I'm having this problem now. I'm still playing 1.7.3 as I like all my mods and the game loads fine - but when I added the baby animals mod things went glitchy. So I took a saved backup and started over from that one....and I remembered to keep my save folder too. Now when I got everything working which took forever...hours!
I got it all done and when I tested it on two of my saved games/worlds I found after a few that I couldn't place blocks. In the first one nothing...I could mine, but not put down a block...right click didn't work. On the second one I had the same problem, but I was able to put a block of dirt into the water. I finally tried it out on a test game that I had used to load into but never "played" - I got the wood for a crafting table and then I couldn't place it. The right click wouldn't let me put it down.
This is aggravating, I'd been waiting for the baby animal update for a while....but now I can't build or craft...some one please....HELP!
