Well, I have an unusual Minecraft problem that arose just today. I was playing on my regular server when I get a sudden crash. My computer screens completely freeze, and about 10-20 seconds later, my primary monitor turns purple (the colour of my desktop background, but it doesn't have what else is on the wallpaper, just the colour) and my secondary monitor turns black. I restarted my comp hoping it was just a temporary problem (The screen was on the same thing for like five minutes, so I powered off manually via the power button located on my computer) and after waiting a minute for startup processes, I run minecraft. My computer does the same thing as before, I wasn't even able to get in the game before it crashed. This time, I waited a little longer and the usual purple and black disappear, showing the blue screen of death. I wasn't able to read it, though. I had looked away and when I looked back it was almost gone, not giving me enough time. So, the comp automatically restarts and I wait for startup. I run Minecraft. It works fine for about 10 minutes, give or So, I restart the comp manually (too impatient to wait for this shite again) and I wait for startup. I run Minecraft. It works fine of about 10 minutes, give or take, then the exact thing happens again. You see where I'm going at. So, the next time I startup my compter, I don't run minecraft. It's been running fine, since I seem to be writing this forum thread and not running minecraft. This is odd for me, the game crashes itself very rarely, but when it did, it didn't completely crash my computer. I am overclocking my graphics card, but I have been doing it for about a week and haven't had problems before today. Anything I can do to possibly fix this issue? I guess I could try running it without overclocking, but it probably won't make a difference. Anyway, thanks for reading this far and possibly helping to resolve my issue.
try not overclocking your pc, it can take a while, in your case a week, for your computer to respond to the overclocking. Also, if you have any mods, try uninstalling them.
1) Stop overclocking. Its entirely likely you damaged your card and it's borked.
2) Update java and video drivers
3) Allocate more ram to minecraft
4) Try not using any mods or texture packs

1) Reverted my video card back to normal and even uninstalled the overclocking program so I won't be tempted to screw with it again.
2) The latest version of Java and my video card drivers are already installed, I checked the driver of my v-card with GPU-Z and went to the Java website to insure I had the latest version and I do.
3) How exactly do I allocate more ram? Do I raise its priority in task manager?
4) I reinstalled Minecraft and switched to default texturepack to make sure it's fully vanilla. I'll post back when my results are justified.
RAM = 6GB
GPU = ATI Radeon HD 5770
COOLING = Erm there's a small fan in the computer and one built into the GPU?
PROCESSOR = Intel 13 550 @ 3.20 GHz
CORES = 2
