I just wiped out the bin folder to ensure that I'm playing Minecraft 1.6.6 vanilla. So I have NO MODS installed as far as I know (vanilla minecraft.jar file)
When either I try to enter an existing world, or when I start a new world, on the new world I can start to play, but roughly after maybe 30 seconds to a minute or so the entire screen turns to powder blue, and the game is frozen.
If I enter a world that was pre-existing to 1.6.6 then it immediately goes to a powder blue screen and the game freezes.
The only thing that has changed on my computer since last playing Minecraft version 1.5 or so, is that I've added another video card so that I now have two 460 GTX in SLI, and of course the 1.6.6 update that I did cleanly today.
Any clues what is going on with this?
Specs:
AMD Quad Phenom 965 BE
8GB Sytem RAM
Dual 460GTX SLI nvidia graphics cards
Windows 7 Pro
I believe the problem was a texture pack that I had been using since about 1.26 (simple night hud) that just changed the hud of the game. Once I remembered that was turned on in the properties file of minecraft, I removed it, which then defaulted to the default texture pack and it hasn't powder blue screened since thus far.
Just in case anybody else stumbles upon the same problem.
