I can use my account on my uncle's friend's and cousin's computers, but I can't use MC from mine?
Hehe, this is indeed a strange situation that we're all in here. I hope this gets fixed sometime soon, because I am sick and tired of the godforsaken web-player crashing every seven and a half minutes.
Well, I followed a link from another thread, so I'll add my voice to this consolidated effort...just bought the game (a week ago now, but still) and haven't been able to play it. Browser, download, gets past the download portion and then just closes the window. I've attempted the following without success:
-Updating Java
-Reinstalling Java
-Reinstalling Minecraft by deleting the bin folder, the .minecraft folder, everything (several individual attempts on each using both of the Windows minecraft.exe downloads and one time I think the .jar one just to be sure)
-Updating graphics driver
-MAYBE something else, but I can't remember anything specific so let's just end the list here and assume this is all I've done
I am running XP. I tried playing online from the computer on the table next to me in Physics one morning last week, and it worked fine, so I know it's not my account or something. I believe the college OS is Windows 7.
I am running a Macbook and have checked for updates, there are none.
It seems like this hasn't been said yet, so I'll say it. Whenever I try loading Minecraft Alpha in browser it only shows a black screen. I went through the usual stuff and cannot start it up. I can only hear music and "lock" the mouse on the screen.
Well, i have copied everything (worlds and server) over to a flash drive so that it is completely gone from my comp. I'm redownloading MC now. Let's hope this works.

I ahve a minecraft server that runs on my computer. My friends and I are building an adventure map and I wanted to make sure that our 3 weeks of work didn't disappear.
My minecraft crashes (on website and downloaded) after it gets past the Mojang logo. I downloaded an ivnedit tool then accidentally put it in the texture pack file then clicked on it. The game froze then crashed, now I can't play at all... Someone help please! Or do i have to rebuy with a new account?
Same issues happening with me. Running Windows XP and was playing Minecraft with no problems for a bit. Then my FPS crashed, even in full screen so I decided to restart. And now it's not letting me play. I've tried doing the things others have with no luck.
What we know right know is that the problem is independent of the OS because they are people on both MAC and Windows having this problem, the version of the OS does not count because they been people experiencing the problem with windows vista, windows 7, Snow Leopard and Leopard (myself). Moreover the version of Java do not seem to be the problem nor a bad download, from which we can narrow the problem down to a bad coding from Mojang we should contact them in order to solve this problem which apparently we can not.
I've tried everything from killing Minecraft and starting over, rebooting my computer, and updating Adobe and Java but I keep getting cut off at the Mojang screen both online and in the downloaded program. I'm running Windows 7, has anyone found a fool proof way to fix this yet or should I just keep up with the thread until a solution is found?

Note that the Mojang symbol is no longer the purple one. It is now the orange one again.

Sorry but what do you mean server?
I tried that. Multiple times. It still crashes.
The plot thickens!
