Hey guys. I just got a new laptop and for some reason, Minecraft is EXTREMELY laggy. It's fine on the menu, but once I go into the game (Multiplayer or Single), it lags so much it's unplayable. I've tried mods and guides to speeding it up but they don't seem to be working, and even changing the video settings to the minimum settings doesn't work.
I have 4GB of RAM and a decent graphics card, so that can't be the reason. Here are my specs:
OS: Windows 7
Model: Acer Aspire 7741Z-4839
Processor: Intel Pentium P6200 (2.13Ghz)
RAM: 4GB
Hard Drive: 500GB
Cool! the same laptop type i'm posting this message with!
ONTOPIC: laptops aren't the best thing for running minecraft. But to fix my problem i went into the task manager, clicked on the process java.exe, and set it's priority higher. DO NOT make it realtime, unless you want your computer to crash horribly.

Note: Next time you feel like bringing up Herobrine, just delete Minecraft, your worlds, convince them to delete your forum account. Hell, melt down your computer, send it through a shredder, and scatter the flakes in the ocean.
The sheer fact that you can even run Minecraft on that under powered netbook just baffles me. Because you're using a laptop, there's almost nothing you can do to fix it by replacing components. your best bet is just to play on a computer that's components are under 5 years old.
