I have recently purchased a computer after I lost my other one, I have not chosen an ISP yet and I am currently downloading files from the library. Can I install Minecraft on this computer, copy the .minecraft folder to my flash drive and put it in Application Data back on my computer at home? If not I suppose it's fair to use a cracked version considering I've already purchased it, but I don't want to.
Also, can anyone help me find a Java installer that doesn't need internet? I'm not sure if my computer at home has Java.
That will link you to the Java run-time environment which will be required to run. Just make sure you chose the version for your operating system that is "Offline".
And yes, if you copy the .minecraft folder from one PC to another, it will work in offline mode. However, you may have difficulty installing said software on library PC's so your mileage may vary.
Just copy you're saved file which is you're world on a USB.
Then go onto you're new computer and install the Minecraft Application again and go to the .minecraft folder, got to saves and put you're saves folder in it.
Alright, thanks. Also I can't create a world here because the computer has an integrated card (or was it the opposite?). None the less considering the Library is ridiculously far away I'm going to bring a cracked version (that's considered fair use, right?) just in case. Also thanks for the Java.
be careful with cracked versions, no idea what or who modified them and what other nasties may be hiding in the modified code. Fair warning.
That being said - the ethical use of them is up to you. You did pay for the software, so, it's really up to you. Personally I would visit a friends house with a good (clean) computer to generate the world and download the software. Backing it up on a flash drive, and deleting it off said computer.

I only have one friend that has internet at the moment, and that particular friend won't let me use his computer because he's afraid I'll "use it for something illegal". Sigh.
