I bought the game.
I play on Windows 7 64bit.
I have 8gb of RAM.
I have my own server for friends and family.
Here is my internet speed:
My java is up to date and I had no problems with the game so far.
So the problem...
I host a server on the computer I play Minecraft on. So I'm playing.. and everyone knows how buggy it is. Anyways, so I crash from a random error from the server or the game, doesn't matter. After restarting, I get errors when I start my server. I do some research and looks like the saved file is corrupted. I open up MC Edit, copy the new buildings I made into an old copy of my world I had as a backup. After doing this, I start the server with the fixed map and it works well.
After days and weeks of playing, I had to do this 3 more times from random crashing of my computer due to running the server or playing the game.
This... thing goes on indefinitely. It successfully ended my world with vertical cliffs... I've been walking at the edge for a while and I haven't seen the end of it yet. Also, this is just one side of the map. I think this is North from where I spawn... but anyways, the point is I haven't looked at other sides to see if I am like trapped in a square. Know what I mean? So far I hope it happens only on this side so I can explore on the other remaining 3 sides, but if the other 3 sides are like this, then I am basically in an island surrounded by indefinite cliffs....
Any solutions? If not, at least Notch should see this..
cool glitch. I'm not sure how the map in minecraft works but id try to edit it in your map editor again and move it far away from its abrupt edge. maybe it will have 'room' to expand then.
this is a complete guess by the way.
The map is Corrupted wich causes World Holes. You might want to make a new world and quit the old one, as far as i know small world holes should disappear upon reopening the world (Meaning close minecraft and open again)
