Ok so how come everytime I try to login into Minecraft it'll just go away after the Mojang icon and won't show me anything. I tried it in the browser as well but it gave me an error but I couldn't get the error or any of the specs because the screen would just go blank. I was playing fine yesterday and now after I installed the 1.3 patch it all just dissappears. anybody mind helping me? It isn't my graphics card or anything to do with my computer not being "up to date" but is this happening to anybody else in this patch? I just want to play.. anybody?
Glad/sad that it's just not me. Having the same issue. It worked fine (up to creating a new world) an hour or so ago. Now crashes after logo. As far as I know, nothing on my end has changed.
I'm having a similar issue. I can log in, but within 10 minutes of play time, the window stops responding. I've updated my graphics drivers and java. I deleted and downloaded the 1.3 exe several times. I'm on Windows Vista 32. Any ideas?
Mine crashes as soon as I click on Singleplayer.
EDIT: I just tried something, and found out something that might help. I moved my save file out of the folder so that the save folder was empty, and tried starting, and I was able to get to the select world screen. When I move it back, it crashes again. I'm going to try starting a new world, see if it works.
2ND EDIT: No, even starting a new world crashes the game the same way. Moving the old save file just lets me reach one screen farther before crashing.
lani: are you running straight vanilla of the update (1.3 last i looked) or any mods/texture files? If it's the later, then I'd try it with out them. When it was running, mine would freeze when I tried to open chest that contained items from mods.
Mine locks up about 30 seconds after loading the world. I renamed my .minecraft folder and re-downloaded the whole thing so it's a mod-less install, but my saved world still crashes. I have some mod items in a chest somewhere, but nothing on my char.
ah the joys of zero day patching. One of the few things I don't miss from my programing days. I've reloaded yesterday's games and bin files and running amuck.

No mods - straight vanilla install.
I dialed back all of the video settings and that seems to help. 30 minutes so far and no crashes! graphics = fast, limit framerate = on, smooth lighting = off, render distance = normal, view bobbing = off, and of course the 3d analglyph is off.
I do prefer the enhanced graphics, so I hope this is fixed soon. In the meantime, I'd rather play, even with clunky graphics. BTW, I love the new lighting - what little I could see of it before it crashed.
I think it has to do with mod items, im having the same issue, so what im doin is replacing my old jar file and getting rid of any items that are from a mod then running on the new jar. Ill let yah know how it goes.
I think I know a solution
-BACK UP UR SAVES FIRST!!! I DONT CARE WHAT U DO FIRST! unless of course u dont care about the worlds
-Delete the .minecraft folder.
-Launch Minecraft, so you get a clean .minecraft folder.
I dont know if it does work, but Im seeing that people with this error solved it this way.
if this is the same problem i'm having, that won't work either. Seems to be a java error. Some common fixes have been to do what was mentioned above; reinstall java; delete the file named: Jinput; run on lower end OS system. None of these have worked for me so far, but they're worth a shot if some of you are having a different problem.
my problem sounds very similar, will show loading screen, then say "done" and then just black (or white if im in compatibility mode). for the downloaded version, it just crashes after the load is complete and I get a wonderful Java error message.
Heres a sample:

Here's my problem. This laptop/computer is new. And I can play the game. But I cant play unless "Fog" is on "Tiny"
This is as follows with the Fog.
Far= 90% Chance of Closing ( always has closed itself if I dd not go back to "Tiny" Fast
Normal= 75% Chance of Closing
Small= 50% Chance of Closing
Tiny= 10% Chance of Closing ( almost never closed itself)
Now with that I get lost alot and with "Tiny" view. Im in no way ever going to find my area again. This leaving me hopeless on the outside. UnderGround I Just got with whatever and Leave alittle mile stone(torch) or something.
So I like some help in like what I can do to my game and/or Computer So I can have "Far" view with out it closing on me.
I have the same issue sometimes. I fix it by going to task manager/Processes, and ending any java programs. Then I reopen minecraft and bamshakalaka it's good (90% of the time. otherwise a quick reboot with a rinse and repeat with task manager and it's Minecraft time!) :biggrin.gif: <--Gir's favorite toy I love this show
my minecraft is getting on my nerves now because when ever i go on there i break like 10 blocks or place them then my minecraft just keep shutting down i have no mods installed not evan mod loader or anything i have downloaded a new minecraft game from minecraft.com and deleted my old files and replaced them with new ones and it keeps ****ing up :sad.gif:
Thanks
