I use a Mac 10.4.11 and I'm having trouble. Whenever I try to get on a server that I have the IP for it tells me
java.net.SocketExeption: Invalid Argument
I got SMP to work once in the really early stages, but haven't again. I'm not spouting nonsense this is extremely annoying. Do I need to upgrade my Mac? Do I need to download something? Am I just unlucky at finding servers? Please help me!
im not quiet sure with the mac, but some servers only accet people they know, have you tried to creat your own server? and whats your specs and can you give me a explanation on the problem a bit better?
My specs are OS X Tiger 10.4.11. The problem is that if I try to join any server that I've tried, it says connecting for about a minute, then tells me my argument is invalid. I'll continue to try and I'll try to create my own server. Thanks for your help. If I get a server up you'll be the first to get the IP.
If it's trying to connect then comes up with an error the problem is probably one of two things.
1. You are being blocked by a firewall on your computer. Disable all firewalls/antivirus to test this. Even disable them temporarily from running when the computer is started then restart.
2. The server you are trying to connect to has a whitelist set up where you are not on it. And when you finally connect the server kicks you giving an error.
Another thought. Do you use a proxy to connect to the internet? although I'm sure if that was the case it wouldn't let you log in through the game launcher.
Have you tried port forwarding?
If it originally worked. Think back to what has changed since then. New software, hardware, certain updates? One of those may be the reason it won't connect.
