Hi, I need to use Hamachi to set up a Minecraft server. There are two computers on my home network, both have Hamachi installed. I ran the mincraft_server.exe file from one computer using the hamachi ip in the server.properties file. I used the exact same minecraft_server.exe file on the other computer and put in the hamachi ip for that computer in the server properties file, but I got the error
[WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!
[WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind
[WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?
so I tried 10 different ports around 25565 but got the same error. So I'm confused, why is it working on one computer but not the other?
I need to use Hamachi, btw, so please don't suggest port forwarding.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that on the computer that gives the error, if I leave the server-ip spot blank the server starts up correctly. However, I need to use the Hamachi ip, and that's the problem.
I have the same problem but then what ip do use use in multiplayer to access my server
The IP you give people to access your server is the one found on this site. The IP you would use is "localhost" (minus quotes) if you're playing on the same computer, or the local IP of the computer the server is on if you're on a different machine. This can be found by typing "ipconfig" (again, minus quotes) into command prompt.
But you can't edit the "Server-ip=" line in server.properties
i was having this problem, i fixed it by uninstalling hamachi and reinstalling it, i kept all user settings though while uninstalling
hope this helps someone
you do need to have the ip that hamachi assigns you in the server ip section of the server.properties file
THANKS SO MUCH. OH GOD I WAS STRUGGLING WITH THIS FOR A WHILE >.> TY :biggrin.gif:

I've done this before, and it worked, but now when I type my Hamachi IP after the "server-ip=" it doesn't work. Sadly my router is ****, so port forwarding doesn't work and I have to use Hamachi.
