Download the .jar version of Minecraft from the downloads page (under Linux/Other) (here: http://minecraft.net/download/minecraft.jar)
Run the .jar as:
java minecraft.jar net.minecraft.Launcher -cp -Dsun.java2d.opengl=false-Xms512M -Xmx512M
Minecraft is going to be laggy if you're having this problem anyways, so the best fix is to get a new computer

Read the line that you executed in command prompt and read the line that I quoted from their site. Then read the different I just told to you. I've done everything short of doing it for you.

They made the m in minecraft.jar uppercase, but it is meant to be lowercase.
thanks, but how do you run the jar as that?
This is what shows up
That is straight from the Minecraft site. The one you executed was net.minecraft.Launcher, not net.minecraft.LauncherFrame.
