For the most part, multiplayer has been working fine for me, except for one little (or rather big) problem. I usually connect fine and everything runs smoothly. Then, after anywhere between a minute or a few hours of playing, I'll lose connection to the server and get this message:
Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
I did a bit of searching and noticed there's a few others experiencing the same problem, although I didn't find anything helpful. Also, most people seem to experience it the moment they log in and not a while after. Is there anything that can be done about this? If it makes a difference, I'm using Windows XP.
Never mind. I found it. Except I can't set Number of Receive Buffers to 62. I get the following: "The value is out of range. The valid range is from 16 to 2048 in increments of 16." I'm assuming you meant 64? I set it to 64.
Today was probably the worst day. It happened like 4 times and I couldn't get more than 15 minutes in each. I tried changing it as you specified and went back on. It worked fine for about 2 hours, much to my surprise.
Let me bump this for you, because, alas, I have the same problem.
Only I haven't been able to stay connected to a server for longer than twenty minutes.
Yesterday I played for hours on end and only got disconnected once. Today it's happened 3 times already and I've only gotten about 20 minutes of game time.
I tried switching my connection to wireless yesterday. I played for a few hours without getting disconnected. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that fixed the problem. Although, my wired connection is a lot faster and I'd still like to find a fix for this.
I think is has to do with the fact that the person hosting the server restarted it for errors they might be getting, try asking the server owner to say whenever hes going to restart so you can be prepared

It's not because of any restarts. I randomly disconnect and the server is still up. If it was because of restarts it would still be happening regardless of switching to wireless.

Thanks.
Receive Buffers>Value 62
Transmit Buffers>Value 512
I'm using XP. I can't seem to find a Device Manager or Network Adapters anywhere in the control panel. Is there another way to do it?

But then, wouldn't you know it...
